What are y'all even talking about in here?

Microsoft taking a L on consoles, and sub cost is very much pro consumer. Especially when they can, it's the right thing to do especially during not only a pandemic but also inflation for the time being.

On the other hand Sony quickly passed it off to y'all.

And now for some reason y'all hype because in the future, the current climate of things might go up.

Y'all told me Sony doesn't have a monopoly, but a multi billion dollar company has to loses millions for decades just to get there foot in the door.

:jbhmm:

Their foot was in the door during the 360 era, they took it out and dead bolted the door closed ever since.

Xbox is the only company that can continually fail upwards in gaming because of the parent company subsidizing their failures.

Y'all love to go back to the 360 era. Them having a decent era that they still lost in the end and was made mostly possible by mistake after mistake on Sony part doesn't mean much.

It also doesn't change the fact that they've had to lose money since the Xbox to stay competitive and build up a track record.

They still only have there foot in the door, and depending on how aggressive they keep playing this generation only will that change.

No it wasn’t just because Sony was messing up. The exclusive game pipeline of the 360 (the first half anyway) was extraordinary. They put out tons of compelling 1st party and 3rd party software, including their main franchises still being at their peaks.

They even had solid JPRG games like Tales of Vesperia, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery, etc. etc. They were overall more aggressive about their software offerings on top of aggressive price structure and a compelling online system.

Sony ended up matching them that generation because they finally got their own software in order, with MGS4, Uncharted, TLOU, GoW, etc.

They completely let their foot off the gas by the end of that generation and have been flailing in the wind ever since.

So what you all consider gas is locking up potential 3rd party games and launching them as exclusives and timed exclusives?

You listed a bunch of jrpgs, that apparently "xbots" don't play anyway.

All in all, MS had a easier system to develop for with the 360, a head start, and a price gap and still lost, MS wasn't moving a ton of units because of blue dragon, TOV and lost odyssey. It was because of everything in totality
