It supposedly helps brain development a lot more than print but the shyt I was told, we had to learn it for "high school and college". Both of which never required it outside of the SAT and I barely actually wrote shyt in college besides math/accounting/economic shyt and the rest was all digital. Even then, shyt like OneNote uses handwriting to the extent that it can solve math problems for you so even then, there's not too much purpose of actually writing shyt anymore

I think my niece only had a brief lesson of how to write cursive letters in 3rd grade.

She thinks it's fancy. She writes her name at the top of her homework sheets in cursive.

Other than that, I don't think it's pushed. I didn't see anything regarding cursive thuis school year. I guess what's the point if everything is typed or via Zoom.

I personally write in cursive all the time when at work or taking down notes. It's quicker.

but I’ve noticed that my writing style changes in certain situations/moods. Sometimes I will write sloppy and cursive, sometimes neat and cursive when I have time. Sometimes I will write in all caps like my mom; sometime I won’t.

I do know that back in the day, parents would make their child write with their right hand even if they were left hand. My granny mom made her do that.
