Would you live in this house made out of shipping containers?

Not really...I don't like most of the styles made out of shipping containers. Plus, I need my yards(front and back). And I live mostly in Gaborone, where it is extremely hot. A place like that would consume a lot of electricity. My ideal place is more like this:

Built with adobe mixed with palm oil, same as those in Kingdoms like Ashanti, Benin or Hausa used to do in order to give a smooth and resistant appearance. Adobe is the best for our environment because it provides the best cooling effect. Strong wood pillars from Dahomey or the ones from the kingdoms in the Cameroonian Grass-fields. Also, a perfectly trimmed thatched roof.

Pillars could be like these:

The gold bird at the top comes from Benin Kingdom's influence, they used a lot in the past as finials:

you might be right its not my industry

i didnt watch the whole video but these people were talking about their legacy and doing something good for the world and whatnot

my point was you wanna do something good and green, this is a rather inefficient way to do it
Modular homes are probably gonna be the wave for starter homes. The issue is getting the masses of people on board with it.

Will be a big mistake when we wanna keep expanding.
Housing isn't supposed to be this ever appreciating asset. It's just supposed to be a place so you can live in it with your family and raise your kids. Capitalism running wild is why the average home price is over $400,000 and the average American can't even afford it. Housing isn't this expensive in majority of the world.

But it is.

Capitalism running wild was the reason for starter homes.
Capitalism running wild is the reason for container homes.

No. Iā€™m working toward a home like this.

I'm (passively) working on this, don't know if I'll get it but I'm trying

This right here is bomb. It's 600sqft but the inside looks spacious. Love the oversized windows. I'm a fan of whether it's a condo, townhouse or single family. I think if they were mass produced and got a decent sized yard people would get them as starter homes fresh outta college/ trade school.

People tend to take on too much house when starter homes are out the picture. I think a home this size or slight larger can help them properly gauge how big they want their next home. You wouldn't want buyers remorse after buying a home with way too much Sq footage. Furnishing a home is another expense most people don't take into consideration.

For something like this I wish they'd put more built in storage "above" the closets for longer term storage needs.

Seems kind of a waste otherwise.
