No he's not a bust but if you saw him in high school chances are you'll feel like his career has been disappointing
So we basing this off of high school you know how many dope and 1 looking high school dudes we have on youtube from high school we have to base his career to where he was drafted so the 45 pick to have had his career is remarkable especially in the NBA this aint the NFL its limited positions. Now Austin Rivers or Anthony Bennett that's who the word BUST is reserved for not Lou that's disrespectful :comeon:

It's plenty of athletes in many different sports with these great high school highlight tapes on YouTube that don't dominate how the did in hs

I guess I'm older but he never had a true position so I never thought he has destined to smash the NBA.

I've been here long enough to see a gang of guys come through with that hype.
Lou will was argubly the best scorer in GA in the last 20 yrs after vincent banks from south atl. If Lou was 6'6 he would have gotten OJ mayo type hype nationally.

That's my point at 6'3 it was :manny: to me.

Keep in mind I'm close to 40 so when I was in high school there was a cat named James Forest that went on to play at GT and the Bulls. He was 6'4 or 5 but was basically PF. Dude was a monster in high school. After that I knew how it worked.

Like said at my age I've seen saw a crazy amount of cats come through along with some of the golden years of ACC basketball. Matter of fact, I've seen an ass load of high quality basketball in my life now I think about it.

I'm not slighting Lou at all but nothing ever said to me he would be a All-Star type guy I the league.

I`m interested to know how many people knew of Lou pre NBA. Dudes hype in the metro was nuts.
The hype is probably due to ATL not having many NBA-caliber players ever come from there so when you come across one who has the talent you hail him as a god

And I saw Lou in high school so I knew he would be able to play in the league but there may not ever be another A.I. so I don't fault Lou for not being A.I.

You may want to amend that first paragraph sir.

I remember that time period there was so much talent coming out of Georgia particularly the Atlanta area. Couple of years before there was Dwight, Josh Smith, Randolph Morris all were top 20 players. Than Lou Will and Mike Mercer were getting a lot of love. That was time period was like a golden era in Atlanta. I think that played a part in him getting so much hype.
Yup I remember Mike Mercer. Number 33. He took a scholarship at UGA. I thought the league would give him a longer look but for some reason they didn't.....

Don't see how people can downplay just because you foolishly thought in High School he was the next AI. You should have lowered your expectations when he was drafted in the late 2nd Round.

He was highly ranked in HS, but I don't remember anyone calling him a future NBA star

Yea but coming out of high school he got crazy hype was consider the next A.I with hops. If yu look at it from that standpoint he's a disappointment. If yu look at it from where he was drafted he's a steal

Iverson had hops. :sas1:

We're gonna need some footage of Lou in Highschool to justify the title of this thread though:sas2:
