Thompson is seeking a maximum deal paying upward of $15 million per season, a source said. The Warriors have improved their offer to get in the vicinity but have not offered a full maximum contract, sources said.
For starters, I know it's just the extension coming off a rookie max. And I like Klay, but what has he proven to be other than a 3 & D guy to this point? He's an elite 3 & D guy so don't get me wrong, but it's still 3 & D. However, considering Parsons & Hayward got max salaries, I can see why he feels deserving of one. By that logic, absolutely. Maybe he takes a leap this year in a new coaching system, but I just don't see it right now. Between this talk of a max contract extension and them refusing to trade him for Love, he's slowly becoming the most overrated player in the NBA. Seeing that he'll be restricted, I think Golden State should wait it out and see what the market is for him after the season
