Would you give Klay Thompson a max extension?

Klay Thompson's camp is frustrated that the Golden State Warriors haven't offered a maximum contract in their ongoing extension talks with Friday's deadline nearing, sources told Yahoo Sports.

Thompson is seeking a maximum deal paying upward of $15 million per season, a source said. The Warriors have improved their offer to get in the vicinity but have not offered a full maximum contract, sources said.

For starters, I know it's just the extension coming off a rookie max. And I like Klay, but what has he proven to be other than a 3 & D guy to this point? He's an elite 3 & D guy so don't get me wrong, but it's still 3 & D. However, considering Parsons & Hayward got max salaries, I can see why he feels deserving of one. By that logic, absolutely. Maybe he takes a leap this year in a new coaching system, but I just don't see it right now. Between this talk of a max contract extension and them refusing to trade him for Love, he's slowly becoming the most overrated player in the NBA. Seeing that he'll be restricted, I think Golden State should wait it out and see what the market is for him after the season . But I've been wrong before. Looking forward to how he plays this year

I would feel better tiving parsons a max deal than klay. Parsons the more versatile player. Can play three position and do more on offense. And I don't think parsons is a max player.

depends on the future cap mark. if its increasing as much as was rumored than id be more willing to do it than otherwise. hes a top notch talent but if i was a GM i wouldnt be too keen on handing out max's in general unless A) i was in a shytty area that cant lure free agents (ala the jazz) or B) its for a transcendent level talent (top 10-15 in the league). Klay isnt top 10, arguable in top 15 although hes prob more top 20/25. also depends on coaching staff and system. SGs arent really that important anymore IMO

lol put klay/lance on the raptors and the raps are a 38 win team last year.
Put Derozan on the Warriors or Pacers in a trade and i know damn well yall would be saying Klay/Lance are overrated and Derozan is underpaid (@9.5M a yr) The American hate/bias towards Canada is strong.
