He's a bit overrated.

He's a great shooter.

But does he rebound? does he grab assists? does he impact the game besides shooting in the corner or off screens?

His defense is decent.

I don't think he's a max player.

When the cap jumps he won't be a max player though, Beal will probably end up asking for more once the new salaries take over.

That's true.

Next summer I doubt the cap goes up that much.

But he'll get it on the open market of 4 years $64 million.

Thing with GSW is, they have Curry on such a cap friendly deal...its kind of weird if they're going to be paying Thompson almost $20 million on the same length deal.

I think the Wizards will lock Beal up next summer before 15-16 before the jump in the cap. Just like they did with Wall last summer.

Nah, the cap is going up to around $80 million, it's pretty much a given since the NBA is now getting 2x as much from the TV deal.

Yeah but we all know Curry's deal is only like that cause his ankles were glass status, when it's time to reup he'll be getting the max.

You're saying the cap will jump next summer? :lupe: I thought it was 2016 when things would go crazy

The NBA is floating the idea of increasing the cap for the 2015-2016 season, they apparently don't want teams to just be flush with 30+ million out of nowhere, so gradually increasing it before the new CBA is something that could happen.

And I've seen some projections saying it could get up to $90 million.

As long as he's one of Currys homies and putting in quality minutes. Gotta keep your stars happy.

If that was the case Mark Jackson would still be here and Seth Curry would be backing up his big brother. Steph only has that kind of power if he was in a contract year.

Coaches come and go. Homies are forever. Shaq got his people's paid on every squad he played with. The Warriors could let Klay go, by if they do, between that, Mark Jackson, & Curry's Goodwill level contract I don't see Curry coming back. He might be signed now, but he could always force a trade.
