If you think golden tate, after the worst offensive pass interference of all time, had even partial posession of that ball, then really, theres no reason for us to continue talking.

thats what im saying. ball wasnt even 50/50 and he didnt even wrestle it outta Jennings hands. he had his hand on Jennings arm :heh:

yes, because it came down a tie. Gruden was b*tching and influencin' people, the ref who was on set with Gruden and Tice on the postgame show said he would have called it a touchdown if two refs were disagreeing, as you go with the first call. The DB put his hands on it first, but as he was bringing it to his body, the WR put his hands on the ball, and they both came down with it at the same time. If it was basketball, it is a clear jump ball call. However, it's football, not basketball, in football, jump ball goes to the receiver. Gruden can pop himself if he wants, but the refs were put in a tough situation, that's a 50/50 call, but I think the refs erred on the right side. :obama:

Agreed. Half of the a$$holes on this site aren't capable of thinking objectively for themselves, however. I get called a troll and shyt. I truly do feel the call on the field was correct.

They just trollin, gotta be. Jennings had the ball first in the air and on the ground. That was not a hard call at all, like PortCity said, the black ref had the call right.

Just another case of Cac's gon Cac!

According to this article the rule is:

Simultaneous Catch. If a pass is caught simultaneous by two eligible opponents, and both players retain it, the ball belongs to the passers. It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains control

So even if Tate eventually got partial control of the ball it still wouldn't be considered a simultaneous catch. That rule only comes into play in case of a "tie" i.e. both players grab the ball at virtually the same instant. But there was no tie here, Jennings clearly had the ball first and it should have been ruled an INT. The only way that it could have been considered a TD was if Tate could've ripped the ball completely away from Jennings before he landed and was ruled down. That obviously didn't happen, so it should've been a pick. :krs:

Yea wasnt even close to being simultaneous, Tate only had one hand on the ball when they were coming down, not until they damn near hit the ground was when he tried to put both hands on it.
