would it be accurate to say LeBron is on the decline, and Father time is knocking?

not a troll post, but after watching the first 2 games of the Finals it's pretty obvious (to me) that LBJ's athleticism is starting to leave him. I'm watching him try to overpower defenders and get to the rack, but his body isn't responding like it did years ago. He is struggling with his jumper b/c his legs aren't what they use to be...he can't get the same lift, he def can't finish like he once could....it's sad seeing 1 of my fave players of all time start to decline :wow:

Dude plays to many minutes

He's still explosive as hell. Problem is - he's not necessarily as explosive as the guy who could dominate just by being bigger, faster, and stronger than the guy guarding him

And he never polished any of his actual basketball skills (besides passing) that he can fall back on to keep him unstoppable through his mid 30s. The jumper, post moves, handles are just not going to cut it when he can't just blow by and jump over everyone

ANYONE WHO SAYIN HIS GAME HASNT REGRESSED DRASTICALLY IS LYIN TO THEMSELVES .. I MEAN, DUDE WAS NEVER A FUNDAMENTAL SKILL PLAYER, BUT RATHER A PHYSICAL SPECIMEN WHO RELIED MAINLY ON STRENGTH AND ATHLETICISM .. IT WAS OBVIOUS TO ANY1 WHO UNDERSTOOD THE GAME OF BASKETBALL THAT HIS GAME WOULDNT AGE WELL..

Statisically Bron hasn't fallen off but he's definitely coming out of his prime.

Just like '12 Kobe vs '08 Kobe or '98 MJ vs '96 MJ...there's just certain plays, shots, etc. that they could make often that just don't happen any more.

Not to mention the frequency of shots blocked which for LeBron has risen exponentially in my opinion.

He changed shooting coaches when he changed teams
He knows his jumper is wacked so he's getting closer to the basket making it easier for good defenses to scheme. This wouldn't be a problem in '09. In '17 and '18 it will be major.

Bron's bread and butter(finishing in the paint) is still slowly falling by the wayside. Granted, he's still elite in the big picture but he's definitely declining.

This season was the lowest FG% he's had in the 3-10ft and 3pt range since he was a rookie.

Coincidentally, Bron shot more layups/dunks as a % of total shots than he has ever and it wasn't close so his FG% still looks fine.
