would it be a stretch to say despite AEW’s “huge” acquisitions, their momentum is waning??

Appreciate the actual well thought out response and actual reasoning

So basically we realistically won’t even know the answer to this question until possibly years down the line is what you’re saying.. and that honestly makes sense
It doesn’t make sense because when aew renegotiates their tv contract Bryan and Punk will be in their mid 40s, making an “investment” on them now is useless. If they were 10 years younger, different story. Punk already looks damn near 50.

They haven’t really set a clear path in storylines

they are starting to remind me on old TNA they got so much shyt going on instead of focusing more on the best talent

Think of this from a "growing talent" POV, they need stars and vets to prop up these young dudes, help them gain experience. In 2-3 years, you want some of these green indy dudes to have learned a shyt ton from the Punks, Danielsons, etc. Even the Mark Henrys and Big Shows backstage. Even their best guys like Kenny, naturals like MJF, and most over guys like Paige can all benefit from learning and working matches with these "budget busters".

And even if it you look at it from the POV of they want these dudes to just be the stars, and not try to elevate anyone with them.. Danielson at least looks good still, and in the ring already the best or top 3 talent on the roster. I know I'm more interested in the program immediately when I see he gonna have a match on either of their shows.. There is really no negative to that signing.

AEW wrestlers have shown zero sign that they’re taking any advice from people like big show and mark henry. You can’t tell these guys nothing because they’re more interested in the opinions of people like Meltzer and Alvarez instead of seasoned vets.

Anyone who says they don’t care for ratings is lying. Especially on a product or show they love.

I desperately want AEW doing 2.0’s because the product is good, people should tune in to watch something amazing so it is discouraging seeing the ratings drop weekly.

It’s no different seeing TNA struggle to bring in viewers. The show is amazing, they deserve to have wrestling fans appreciate and watch

At this point it’s undeniable

It is. And that bullshyt up there you thanked back on 8th (I'm guessing you were being nice) about things setting up for the next decade is as much bullshyt as anything being "game changing". They can't even change their ratings from going backwards but they've changed the game and the next 10 years of AEW is set in stone.

Just like CBS turned on TNT in August, saw Punk, and decided from that moment on they needed to have some kind of wrestling on their network. Like network television isn't in planned out 6-12 months before announcement.

The same guy that said all this shyt said drafting Trevor Lawrence added 700 mil in franchise valuation to the Jaguars and that his advice is the reason AEW has signed the 1 extra black wrestler they've signed in the past year. Go figure.

Yes, they dropped ball if we're looking at things in a vacuum. They will never be able to replicate the 7 year built up Punk anticipation and there aren't any nuclear bombs available like Bryan or Cole left to drop. Matt Hardy's talking about Bray's non-compete being up but he isn't loved the same as what they've had. They have the roster to still be successful despite dropping the ball if they can cut out the start & stop booking and tell actual stories (you'll need some downers) but as far as that overwhelming momentum which is what the thread's about, that's 100% gone.

Dudes so concerned about their expectations for a fed instead of actually watching a product for enjoyment. :dead:

I’ve said I enjoy the product multiple times lol I’m a fan

If Marvel drops a new avengers and it opens up to 10 mil it’s opening weekend but the movie is phenomenal, are we just supposed to not talk about how the movie performed because we *gasp* enjoyed the movie?

Because I watch and enjoy the show every Wednesday, I can’t criticize anything about them in the slightest huh. That’s how we rockin..
