:ohhh:

She is featured twice.

I didn't mean no disrespect to her vocals. She sounds just like Mary J Blige but MJB without the extras she has.

My apologies,.
Yea no doubt. It's all good bro. I was a big fan of hiphop coming out of Queens Bridge during that era so I'm kind of familiar with a lot of the local artists around the time. Chinky is one of them.

Shout out to Queens and QB. I wasn't aware of Chinky.

She sounds like Cam'ron 'Love my Life' girl on the hook if that's her that would be dope because that Cam hook was much better.

I will do some googles. If Nina Sky are Queens, what happened to them they were beautiful and had that dope hook on 'Hold you down'.

Yea I think that was Nicole Wray on that Cam'ron song. She did some music with Missy Elliott back in the day. With Nina Sky, I think they DJ now.

Oh OK props.

Nina Sky were nice and last time I heard one went lesbian and they do acoustic sets but this was like maybe 8 years back now.

Thanks for correcting that error Bro. :salute:

It fit the vibe just fine to me. The Infamous has a very jazzy vibe and it was perfectly in line with the other Q-Tip joints in particular, as well as Trife Life.

Q-Tip explained it on Complex and the Red Bull Music Academy how the big key to The Infamous' sound is that it was dark, not  hard, which js why there was room for beats like Give Uo The Goods, Temperature's Rising, and Drink Away the Pain. Its not a hard song necessarily but DATP has that same kinda late night, quiet storm vibe as a lot of other songs on that album; those saxes on QU-Hectic and Cradle to the Grave are similar too
You ain't wrong breh. It's me just being overly critical for discussion's sake...Drink Away the Pain is a classic song. Infamous does have that jazz/Q-Tip influence all over it, which is part of its greatness.

Album's production has a lot of versatility:

- Jazz influenced beats QU Hectic, Drink Away, Survival, Give up the Goods
- Murky beats like Start of Your Ending
- Hard beats like Eye for an Eye
- Dark beats like Shook Ones, also QU Hectic etc.

I'm sure you liked her on this joint too.

:stopitslime:

Yup! I did.

And when they performed this at The Muse here in NYC, she tore that sh*t down! They took the beat out, and the whole crowd was singing along with her acapella and Pete and CL were putting the mics to the crowd and the spot was jumping like a MF! Classic sh*t. Ridiculously dope Hip Hop moment!

I've spent 2+ decades curating grimy playlists and Eye for an Eye is the grimiest beat of all time imho.

When I first heard the album, it was on YouTube and I ended up listening to a non-CDQ version of the song. It sounded like it was recorded in the sewers and it made the song darker than it already was. :wow:
