almost every time i went to that walmart or the target close by, homeless people would always ask me for moneyLMFAOOOOO USF area! That Walmart on Fowler
I could never say no eitherlived out there and yea some areas areAnywhere in Fort Myers, Florida that city a sleeper.
particularly MLK/michiganave/fowler area, pine manor and harlem heights.

Listen, breh. I grew up in Brightmoor and there is so much WRONG with this statement its scary.
1. Detroit is NOT 95% tore up. Outside of some spots in the far east and Brightmoor. The VAST majority has well-built, sturdy homes. Is it where it was in the heyday? fukk naw, but to say 95% is to say the city is unlivable which is simply untrue.
2. The City was on its way to being fukked up LONG before the riots. White flight started in the 1940's after WW2 and the GI Bill, AFTER that the riots exacerbated white flight. And NO Detroit was not some bastion of black excellence in the 50s and 60s. This city was still more than half white then. Then came the advent of Coleman Young you actually got the city to its LOWEST DEFICIT in history, but the racist rhetoric around him and his administration drove even more whites out of the city along with the recession of the 1970's. Then crack in the 80's. However, the largest amount of people leaving from Detroit in the past 40 years were MIDDLE CLASS BLACK FOLKS. Not whites. They took their taxes and money out to Lathrup and Southfield and Warren and did just as much to erode the tax base in the city than white flight did in the 50s. We still had a million+ people in the 1990 Census breh, and in that 20+ years 90% of the people moving out of Detroit were black. I went to DPS man..we still had arts programs and bands and AV club and shop classes in the 90's.
3. We SHOULD be the place black people come to invest and work. But that is not the case because of lack of regional cooperation on massive projects (basically racism) and the fact that the black folks that COULD have been investors in small business and or job creators took their money out to Oakland county and are now some of the main ones lamenting the fact that white folks are moving back to the city in droves and Dan Gilbert is snatching up all the land. Most of the shyt he's developed has been sitting vacant or unused since the 80's or longer. I don't like him that much either but its not like the oppritunity wasn't there for us as a people.

I know that it's black folk that been leaving since the 90's though, as I tell nikkas, my OG has a nice ass crib on 13 mile and Hoover in Warren and it's a nice amount of black home owners out there, and I can't even front, the white people are cool as hell for the most part and have been forced to become accustomed to the black culture cause of the vast amount of upper middle class black people out there.
The purple gang shyt was popping off in the 40's right? I have read a few books/articles about just how murderous they were on the business tip, and I believe they were Italians or Jews, Detroit's murder culture started way before black folk dominated the population.
Now as far as the amount of tore up shyt, I kinda disagree with u, although I do agree that 95% may be too high of a number. I'm from Warren and Chalmers, u know that's deep east. The only "nice" neighborhoods close to me is the Mack borderline going east starting at Audobon/Outer Drive, some nice ass houses right there but that's a very small radius, it's still solid off Warren in that same radius but getting worse.
I'll admit though, the Westside has some nice areas. Like how 6 mile is fukked up 100% of the Eastside it's nice as hell the whole way down on the west past Woodward. Brightmoor is similar to most of the East though, rough as hell. But shyt like Joy road down by the Dearborn border is nice and a lot of other areas on the West. The East and West are 2 different cities to be honest (and the West is much bigger) so I get what u are saying, especially since u are from the West.

i've been to 3rd world countries in person before,since seeing them the danger of Amerikkkan hoods has lost a lot of its luster..
i've come to find that sometimes the worst hoods in Babel-On don't even always look that bad aesthetically,shooters can pop out of any snake or wormhole in the soil..

Yeah, I know but it's funny cause the Michigan Ave up here (the very beginning of it) runs thru a lot of the Midwest (including Detroit and Chicago) and it's funny that it's a main Street elsewhere.

In response to the bolded, my grandma was on Wilshire between Chalmers and dikkerson. And my pops was off Harper and Cadieux. I know all that area well, breh. And yeah the east is hard hit, but go north and up near Eastpointe, or E Outer Drive that shyt is all stable. Same for Indian Village, Chandler Park and a few other areas around there. Give Detroit more credit...its fukked up, but its not Aleppo. Yeah, Brightmoor is fukked up, but it sits right next to Rosedale Park and Old Redford, which are two areas that never fell off or fell off minimally in the recession.
And the Purple Gang was in the 20's/30's during prohibition, mostly Jewish. Part of why North Farmington and Bloomfield have such staunch Jewish populations now.
fukk Warren though...the mayor and the legislature in Macomb county in general is racist AF.
Ayr in Scotland is fukking horrendous as well, it's essentially in the middle of nowhere and every time I went there you just saw junkies shuffling about at all hours, violent and bigoted as fukk as well, it's like Glasgow as far as Catholic and Protestant fighting goes.

An earlier hearing was told that police were called to Thomson's flat after residents reported that he was causing trouble outside the building in the early hours.

The court heard "a full firearms operation" - including three armed response vehicles - as well as police negotiators, arrived in a bid to control him.
Thomson called his ex-partner at one stage to tell her that he was "getting ready" to be arrested or "taken from his home dead".
He went on to throw other items at officers - including glass, cans, bottles, crockery, ice cream tubs and a games console.
The court heard that he had barricaded himself in the flat before grabbing a knife in each hand.
As the surrounding area was sealed off, Thomson refused to back down.
He then aimed a crossbow from his window and fired bolts from the weapon at police.
'Highly dangerous'
As police took cover, a decision was taken to shoot Thomson in the arm in a bid to end the siege.
This happened at about 12:15 - nearly seven hours after officers arrived.
Police then stormed his flat and handcuffed Thomson before he was taken to hospital.
At the High Court in Edinburgh, judge Lady Scott told Thomson that she had no other option but to send him to prison.
She said: "This was a highly dangerous and protracted course of violence directed at police officers acting in the course of their duty in seeking to prevent this disturbance and latterly to protect life.
"Your actions in throwing fireworks and shreds of glass directly at them, followed by shooting at them using the crossbow, placed the individual police officers in grave danger.
"By your plea you have accepted that you had a wicked intention to kill the police involved or were wickedly reckless as to whether that was the result."
