Yep. I was there in the late 80's and that place was fukked up. Cabrini Green and the Taylor Homes back in the day in Chicago was equally as fukked up.
Oddly enough not many people in this thread are actually saying any place in Chicago.
Honestly Chicago does not look
that bad when you compare it to what I've seen in Detroit and flint. Chicago is very violent due to the gang culture but it doesn't have as many burned down buildings and dilapidated houses etc like you see in some places.
The exception is North Lawndale where the riots in the 60s happened.
Even Englewood doesn't look too bad other than O-block where Keef is from.
63rd street where the L is directly over the street for a long stretch is nasty af and is just a festering environment for crime.
Detroit looks 10x worse than Chi
