In regards to Egypt: I chose New Kingdom Egypt because its really the only time when Egypt could be considered an empire. If we said "Greatest Civilization Ever" Ancient Egypt would play a larger role in the conversation.

In regard to Greece, the only time "Greece" could be considered an empire was under Alexander...which was impressive in its own right, but lacked longevity.

If I remember correctly from the old site, that poster enjoys trolling and is actually of Indian descent.

You have the wrong guy.

Am i fukk of indian descent.:skip:

There's no trolling here. The British did more than go everywhere and take shyt.

Considering we're a tiny island, we're the greatest nation in history

The Dollar runs the world when its the 11th most valuable. :usure:

Highest-valued currency unit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

UK had the first computers at the same time as us. We saved the worlds ass in WW2? I was so sure GB had a major hand in the ending of WW2.
Should read your own links breh
A high-valued currency is distinct from a hard currency, which is a currency with a good buying power and which is widely accepted as a reliable store of value. For example, a Kuwaiti dinar is not of very much use outside Kuwait, and is bound to the economy of that country. It is in fact pegged to a basket of hard currencies. In contrast, the Japanese yen is considered a hard currency even though the nominal rate of the dinar is more than 280 times that of the yen.

Care to explain why? sure they had a lot of territory, but they couldn't control it, and they never had the military dominance that the Americans and the Romans did over the world

Are any of these empires still in existence?

You could argue the British still have an empire.

America doesn't have an empire.

The Romans were never dominant they were almost constantly at war.

Americans have an empire, check how many military bases we have in foreign countries, and how many countries we have puppet governments set up in, those are our new age "colonies".

British we're constantly getting punked by france, they didn't have dominance over their own continent.

Romans were constantly at war but thats because they had to deal with barbarians, would be the same if we neighbored Afghanistan or Iraq, but they won all of their wars until they started collapsing, plus they dominated economically and culturally

I knew you would say something like this. There's a difference between having military bases and administrating over millions of people all across the globe.

France punking, Britain in what century friend?

The Romans well if you want to collapse your own argument cool

Roman...Egyptian is arguable but the Romas controlled all of Europe, the Middle East, and Northern Africa for 500 years. Hasn't been rivaled since.

i guess it depends on your definition of "empire" and what criteria you use to determine the most valuable aspects of an "empire." because where one person could value longevity the most someone else may value historical influence.
