Guardians is somewhat necessary to establish the cosmic side of the MCU. It's something that's needed if Thanos is the endgame. I'm more angry that they passed up BP for Ant-man, especially since Ant-man isn't going to be used for Ultron. If they are willing to make big budgeted film for a character as obscure (and silly) as Ant-man, makes no sense why they can't do the same for BP.

I still think Marvel is afraid of Black Panther not because they think a movie about the warrior king of a technically advanced, prospering African nation won't make any money, but because the backlash would be enormous if they were to mess it up. You know race baiters (both white and black) would tear every inch of the movie apart to find something to complain about...
