Because there is a difference between lockdown and immunity tactics and a vaccine.

Wuhan went on complete lock down for almost 3 months to stop the viruses from spreading and kill the remains that maybe left in public spaces.

They went to lock down in beginning of January whilst UK, Italy, Spain, etc went into a lock down in March. So that means other countries e.g Spain, Italy, are 2 months behind, but for some countries like the US and UK, they have not gone into a complete lock down and have had those 2 months of people STILL moving around and passing it on. As for the US you can extend those numbers of passing it on due to the lack of a testing and tracking.

Wuhan has not just let everyone back out. They are being allowed out based on the tracking of their movement during the lock down. This will not happen in the western world.

A vaccine Is much much more different than that.

There are already studies being done here in Cali about Herd immunity. Many of us think Cali was ground zero for covid 19 in the US and it’s been here since last fall, that’s why are covid numbers are so low compared to NY and we have a population twice as large as NY.
