I use to like working at the liquor store. hated working as tech support. once you get in a groove you can deal with anything.
Yeah I work support now when you are dealing with someone who uses a Mac you ask them about the finder and they have no clue what you are talking about unless you describe what the finder is in fine detail . That's when you know it will be a long day.I use to like working at the liquor store. hated working as tech support. once you get in a groove you can deal with anything.
I just posted them here but I shared some of em before. Didn't wanna take over OP's thread
those are my experiences in retail n I got more
Worked those gigs thru high school and university
I had it down to science.....The key is to NEVER interrupt and just let people ramble on until they run out of $hit to say. Even if you already know that what they’re requesting is an impossibility. Just look them in the eye while they ramble on so they can feel listened to.
That’s really how you get thru most customer service fiascos.
"I disagree with you so you're a cac"
Read books on dealing with stress
I worked in retail in my early 20s. That shyt will harden you but it will teach you how to deal with people. Once you leave with that experience, nothing will phase you.
Now I work with clients from “upper class” backgrounds, whilst they still can be a$$holes, I know how to deal with them and switch on that fake white sincerity vernacular.
I will say this. Get your certs, find a trade or skill. Unless you’re looking to move up the corporate ladder or become self employed, you shouldn’t stay in retail for more than five years.
There are too many opportunities to make money that doesn’t involve you standing on the front line for these major corporations. When I look at how far I’ve come, it should motivate anyone to aspire to greater things.
