There's many factors, but they could be figuring out their self worth, and then the self loathing kicks in or the feeling of euphoria.

I think most of it isn't to do with the action itself but the judgement and criticism of others personally. First girl I slept with has a man now and she's not cheated - never has. Someone that bounces around from one partner to the next more than likely has never been in a stable relationship or cannot maintain one, but high numbers don't matter

But of course, if you don't get divorced, you're less likely to have other sexual partners because you're not on the market.
