You guys are right, I should see a therapist. I dont know what's wrong with me but I bet it's alot.

I had to make myself stop watching those vids. I remember da day it happened and da subsequent days immediately after as well as how they made me feel. What I didn't do is go down da rabbit hole of watching some of da footage like I did da other night and those feelings of being uneasy, uncomfortable and dread came right back but I just kept searching for more to watch.

It’s like this part in the movie Signs where Mel Gibson’s character’s wife got into a car accident and got her whole body pinned down between a tree trunk and the hood of a 4x4 truck. She was alive enough for Gibson’s character to talk to her one more time but the deputies in the movie told him that once they remove the truck away from her, she will die because apparently the truck and tree trunk were holding her whole body in place.

That scene is EXACTLY what I was picturing when I posted that reply!

I don’t think anybody here remembers stories of people being crushed by trains and still being alive by some weird circumstances. As soon as they move the train the person dies but somehow being crushed there it keeps them alive.
I’m a EMT. I went to a construction accident last year in the summer, guy got crushed between a big sewer pipe and some excavation equipment. He was alive and talking(but in extreme distress) while we were trying to get him out, but died shortly after at the hospital

And black means the person is dead or close to it

I’m pretty sure that lady was close to death wtf were y’all talking about :dahell: not to mention there were just too many ppl who needed help for dude to break formation and stop just for her. It just illustrates how fukked the situation was. For as cynical as some of y’all are I figured that would be obvious

Wow what an a$$hole. The lady legit looking you in the face telling you multiple times that she’s not dead.

And they still went and put a black tag on her?

Am I reading this correctly? Why tf would she do that? I mean I get the lazy fell out of an airplane but she was still in tact and conscious enough to literally tell you that she was alive multiple times point blank:dahell:

Breh, if the doggone lady is literally having a conversation with you about not being dead how you gonna tag her as hopeless?

Tbh this dikkhead prolly killed her. They most likely left the bodies there for a long ass time and most likely came back to that spot a few days later.

Imagine screaming out for help that you’re alive but no one can hear you because of everything going on.

That ain’t even her :camby:

Ain’t you hear the EMT explain how she was well dressed and not missing half their torso

From the description of her injuries it sounds like it was correct to label her “expectant”. People can talk to you and still be un-savable. Plus this was a mass-casualty event.

In triage we used the expectant label as someone who is, either not going to make it, or too difficult to try to stabilize without taking resources from somebody who stands a chance.

Like say we used all our medical personnel and resources trying to keep an open traumatic brain injury alive. They will likely never wake up and breathe without assistance. We hand this patient off for transport and go run over to three others who are suffering from arterial bleeds in the extremities. They’re classified as urgent but we realize we no longer have the resources to help them because it was wasted on an expectant person.

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
We’re in that era that people chase clout in *EVERY IMAGINABLE WAY POSSIBLE*

Look at the reason for sharing this story 20 years after the fact

Wait, what?

If he was talking to her direct family members.. ok.

But a public description of this so HE can feel better? Why did his name have to be published?

Tasteless af. Clout chasing is replacing money as the poison and root of all things evil. Not respectful at all.

Could’ve celebrated her will to live vs looking for sympathy and clearing his conscience. As tough as his day must have been - she died.
:hubie:
Speaking of clout. Does anyone remember Tania Head? She claimed she was in the South Tower and was saved by a firefighter who eventually died. She put that story out for years after the terrorist attack and got to rub elbows with all of the big figures of 9-11 and even met with the family of the firefight that she claimed saved her. Then, of course, it came out that she was lying about the whole ordeal. Her name wasn't even Tania, it was Alicia. After she got exposed, she disappeared into the stratosphere, and with the exception of a rumor that she got fired from an insurance agency in 2012, nobody knows of her whereabouts, which in this day and age is surprising.
