9-11 happened when I was 14..I’m 34 now and really didn’t understand the totality of it all until
That Nat Geo doc this year…I’ve seen a few docs beforehand but my brain didn’t even really think about how hell-ish it had to be…one wrong decision was literally like life or death…like choosing the wrong stairway or elevator could have killed you..seeing the disaster of it all, hearing the bodies hit.. just tragic

I don’t think anybody here remembers stories of people being crushed by trains and still being alive by some weird circumstances. As soon as they move the train the person dies but somehow being crushed there it keeps them alive.
Yeah, usually in an instance like this the force of the train and the pressure it applies is all that’s left keeping their body and internal organs intact (atleast what’s left of both) once that pressure gets released when the train moves is when death occurs because there’s nothing to hold them together anymore.

When you’ve been cut in half you have less than 6 minutes left then you’d die from blood loss. There’s only a few circumstances where you survive. She obviously was not going to get help quick enough cause there was too much shyt going on and she wasn’t a priority due to her impending death. The EMT’s priority was literally, assigning priorities.

Only her head and the right part of her torso was intact. The rest of her is splattered. She would’ve stayed alive for less than 5 minutes. Since she didn’t die from shock, she most likely died from bloodloss. I personally think she passed away sooner than that cause she spent some energy yelling at that dude…

We’re in that era that people chase clout in *EVERY IMAGINABLE WAY POSSIBLE*

Look at the reason for sharing this story 20 years after the fact

Wait, what?

If he was talking to her direct family members.. ok.

But a public description of this so HE can feel better? Why did his name have to be published?

Tasteless af. Clout chasing is replacing money as the poison and root of all things evil. Not respectful at all.

Could’ve celebrated her will to live vs looking for sympathy and clearing his conscience. As tough as his day must have been - she died.
:hubie:
That’s jacked up. I agree. Instead of giving her props for her will to live, and can only describe her as some sort of freak show who was preventing him from tagging other ppl. :francis:

She wasn't though. The lower half of her body was...barely there. I think it was one of those situations where even if help came instantly she couldn't be saved because moving her would've killed her anyway.

It’s like this part in the movie Signs where Mel Gibson’s character’s wife got into a car accident and got her whole body pinned down between a tree trunk and the hood of a 4x4 truck. She was alive enough for Gibson’s character to talk to her one more time but the deputies in the movie told him that once they remove the truck away from her, she will die because apparently the truck and tree trunk were holding her whole body in place.

Because 9/11 is traumatic as fukk and the media knew not to put that out there but if you want to see it be prepared for your mind to think about all the possibilities of that day. Like
fires alone kill people by burning, suffocating, choking and among other things humans have a natural reflex to fire in our DNA so with that alone people jumping out to flee the fire goes beyond logical it’s subconscious. It took years for people not in the buildings to learn that the impact of the planes hitting made doors hard to open (there are stories of people punching through Sheetrock to escape)

There were a bunch of dead bodies inbetween the buildings and jumpers who later had them towers fall on them. Imagine your body all the muscle, fat, liquids, and gases of your makeup plus gravity, Heat, fire, wind, asbestos, steel, concrete, office supplies, the ceiling, the roof, electrical wires, and other bodies.

People died in a variety of ways and to this day 40% of the people didn’t have anything that was recoverable even through DNA testing. I was reading a story yesterday about a Fireman named Patrick Brown who found a still intact stair case in the corner of one tower and made it past the 77th floor when the towers fell all they recovered of him was his hat, his boots, and some change in his pockets that had his DNA on it. At the memorial there is an area where they are still testing for DNA to find out who was who.

As time goes on I realize we really undersold that day as much as we could for us to go as far as we did but still so much happened because of it that it’s not as simple as just move forward. The people who lost people who were heroes push through to tell those tales but there were also people that day that were regular people that cost others their lives that either died knowing that or escaped knowing that.
Don’t forget the people who probably died trying to flee the buildings but just ran out of gas trying to run blocks and blocks of Lower Manhattan. Getting swept up in the debris of the collapse and just suffocating to death.

Ehh it’s still whatever to me. Sure it’s a tragic event, but in context it absolutely ain’t shyt compared to the entire war and “national security” industry the US created as a result.

How many millions of brown people died and got displaced over this manufactured shyt? :russell:

I seen documentaries on how the CIA and US military killed and tortured mfers to death for years. Hell, how many Guantanamo mfers still getting water boarded on the daily, forced to listen to death screams, every day for over 20 years? Shyt is way worse than a relatively quick death in comparison.

Didn’t some freckle faced CAC in Texas working for Boeing bomb and kill and entire family on an Xbox controller? :unimpressed:
