WOATmore Must Die! [2017 Atlanta Hawks Offseason Thread]

Yeah if anything Hawks could totally get away with a Philly style rebuild, nobody cares about the Hawks so to complain. Is ownership the reason why the GM isn't blatant with the rebuild?

We have a new, meddlesome owner in part time Atlantan Tony Ressler who has seen his entire basketball operation do a 180 in a year's time. After he mismanaged the Horford situation a year ago and signed off to keep Sap 6 months ago he restructured the FO right after the season to remove Bud as President and Wes Wilcox as GM. He brings in Schlenk, from GS, who comes in preaching cap flexibility, good contracts & building through the draft. He has said in interviews that he doesn't favor the Philly rebuild but more of a GS type rebuild where you're competitive even if you don't make the playoffs.

There's also the point that the Hawks are renovating Philips Arena and because of that are raising ticket prices. It's tough to sell "rebuild", higher ticket prices and bad basketball in a crowded sports market and a fickle fan base. People on here forget that the Hawks are still trying to make money, its hard to do that while you suck and tickets are high

He mention these guys are priority. He said Sap is #1. He said you can win with Dwight. All of them are gone.

I like him, he realize you got yo bottom out to win in this league.

He also said Sap would probably get a better offer somewhere else. He was never committed to keeping Dwight here. Y'all gotta look at everything he's been saying about what he plans to do with this roster

I'm on board with tanking and I am trying to support the new GM. But we have to be clear about expectations for this team next yr...this team isn't gonna lose 65-70 games next yr based on what the GM has said he wants to do, that's what I'm saying

I don't see it. 20 wins at most, we loss the guy that's capable of getting hot and taking over games in THJR. Schroeder will win us a few games but will prolly shoot us out of a lot.


I hope we give Bellinelii a lot of PT and flip him for a pick

Delaney is not a nba player at all brehmby still needs another season to learn how to shoot.the most active thing stone has done in his basketball career is pay for p*ssy. Idk if he's stepped on the court in tho I like his baby jumper.

The audacity. Look at magic or the suns roster than us. We will have a 99.99% chance of picking above them and they fukking suck

You gotta remember that Steph was the 7th pick outta Davidson, Klay was 11th outta Washington State. Schlenk saw that you don't have to be at the top of the lottery to build a championship team
