As I sit back and think about this more, it really bothers me how comfortable so many people are in calling out BM in the instances where we're the ally.
I noticed this back when the 2020 Election was going on. So many people were calling out BM for "not doing their part" because of the ones that voted for Trump. The fact that 80% or more voted for Dems didn't matter. Everyone was fixated on the ones who didn't. These were people with large platforms, too. I kept trying to wrap my head around it and I couldn't. BM are not infallible. BM are not above criticism. I get that perfectly. That isn't my issue. My issue is....why are people never willing to look at things as a whole when it comes to us.
You see this WNBA player say what she say and try to go back on it. This was Draymond of all people that had something (which wasn't even that bad) to say. Instead of it being a Draymond Green statement, it quickly became "Black Men don't support the NBA". So Chris Paul, Lebron, and the many BM supporters take a backseat to this one tweet made by this one man.
Despite being in the majority of supporters in these examples, BM are considered the minority. Whenever it's something grounded in negativity, BM are merged together on some Voltron shyt. It never fails.
