When we say "fell off," what does that mean exactly?

If you're talking about commercially, that happens to every rapper, literally every rapper. Jay and Nas will never sell 400k in the first week again because the height of their commercial relevance was almost thirty years ago. So, you could say they fell off in terms of that.

Quality-wise is a different story. Wiz will never have the same commercial success he had in the 2010s because the game can't accommodate him anymore. He'll probably never get close to a top ten song again, but he can still make great music. Just because you don't sell as much, doesn't mean you can't continue to put effort into your work. Not every rapper falls off in that way, and in some cases, they actually get better (J. Cole).

So, what's Wiz's story?

Never got how this dude has fans or was so hyped back then. I get maybe before he turned into a white boy/college
frat stoner ass image.

Tried getting into the hype with the mixtapes but it just wasnt for me.

What happened is the classic example of all hype no substance. When the hype dies down and the machine aint there then so do
most people and we get to see if you really were talented or not.

And yes i entered the thread just to say that.

Then he fell off.:skip:
50 cent is still rich and sells out shows across Europe. You wouldn’t say 50 fell off?
Wiz is still capable of making good listening music current. If it’s not a TV series theme, 50 is an absolute disaster. Did you hear his verse from Nas’ album? Easily the worst verse of 2023 and that’s a year with Young Thug, Soulja Boy, City Girls, and Sexxy Red.

Black people always tear down their own entertainers. SMH.

Wiz didn’t fall off. He rich as hell.

His commercial prime is over but who cares. He still does shows and makes money.

Falling off is like what happened to DMX sadly. Or rappers from the past who can’t do shows or make money anymore. IMO.
What this shyt has to do with anything?

He’s 14th on this list. Fell off or not, he’s definitely a made man by way of his core fan base. I rather have that than being hot for a little, then being forgotten in the grand scheme of things.

I see Suicide Boys on that list. Who exactly do they make music for ?
