Ivey didn’t want to be there and he made that very clear. People are complaining that they didn’t take Ivey, but would have clowned them if they had taken him anyways, which is exactly what they're doing about the Magic in taking Paolo :mjlol:
They should have taken him and just traded him. Detroit had several offers for ivey including four first round picks from the Knicks. Sacramento was terrified because Detroit basically said since the lotto they liked Keegan Murray and because they traded Jerami they officially had a hole at pf. Troy just let the kings over think jt and got not just they guy but basically both with Duren by turning Jerami Grant into a lotto pick

Who says that they didn't field offers for him, but they didn't like what was out there? Detroit was never going to take the Knicks offer serious as it was too far of a drop to even be a viable option and they don't have young players that the Pistons would even consider. It was only so far that Kings were going to be able to move down and still get the player that they wanted. Their options were limited.

The Duren aspect is irrelevant to the topic at hand because the Knicks made that move strictly to help move off of Walker's contract just so they could a run at Brunson that might even come to fruition.

At this point folks knocking Sacramento just because it's Sacramento. They made the right decision if Keegan was their guy. The trade partners would have put them out of range to get who they actually wanted, and by all reports those poo poo platter of trade options weren't worth it anyway. This was a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation for the kings. It just worked out that it allowed the Pistons to get exactly what they wanted. I'll give Weaver credit though. If he leaked Detroit's strong interest in Murray or Mathurin then he possibly influenced the king's decision not to trade back if the Pacers were a potential trade partner, since there was the fear that Detroit would draft their guy if the kings didn't get him first.

Nobody addressing the elephant in the room. What do the pistons do with Killian? I doubt his goal is to come off the bench.

He’s trying to have a breakout year. :manny:

Weavers one wart. Killian will be backup pg. wouldn’t be shocked if he is eventually traded in a deal. Because I doubt Pistons would want to pick up his option.

Yea he better get traded cause you know Cory Joe is probably getting minutes before him :mjlol:

Why take a top 10 draft pick who isn’t even 21 yet and throw him in the bushes

He’s not going no where likely this year and can be a back up rotational pg
Casey already said he envisions three guard lineups with kill Cade and ivey

I don't understand this line of thinking. Killian has been given every opportunity to show what he's capable of and earn a starting spot. He hasn't been thrown to the bushes, his lack of skill and development is what will earn him that spot if that's where he ends up. Just like the second half of the season last year he'll still get plenty of opportunities to show his improvement as the 1st or second player off the bench. This will be his year to show if he's worth extending or not. Being a former lottery pick does not entitle him to anything beyond that at this point. It's up to him to start showing more. If he can show some decent scoring ability this year they will be plenty of chances in a 3 guard lineup as well as he's shown he's able to defend wings effectively.

For now just keep him and let him develop further. I still think he'll find his groove but he's never gonna be a guy that justifies how high he was taken.

Newsflash. Every player in the nba tryin to have a breakout year
Right but not ever player is denied the opportunity. And not every player has top 10 pick potential. In this case Killian is expected to. But pistons seem to be not giving him the opportunity
