With Always-On, I Think Its Safe To Say PS4 Won Next Gen Already

UPDATE: More relief... At a roundtable this morning, Sony's game studios chief, Shuhei Yoshida, told reporters that any requirement for users to register a game online in order to play it would be left to game publishers. Sony won't require that.

The publishers are gonna do it. Three big games are already rumored to have the requirement. Battlefield, watch dogs and Assasins Creed 4

More to the point, I think that an always-on Xbox is directly in keeping with Microsoft’s strategy for all next-generation platforms, including Windows Phone (all versions) and Windows 8/RT, which are designed to work as if you are simply connected all the time. Yes, they do work offline, of course. But the apps platform on these systems—which will be replicated on the Windows 8-based next Xbox—assumes a connection. Microsoft’s new platforms are integrated conduits for online services.

I sit in business meetings 3 days a week. What baffles my mind if all I am hearing is true about the new xbox and I cant believe somebody in their business meetings didn't smack who ever came up with these idea's.

They have already lost a certain micro segmentation of people do to charging for online, now there further alienating possible clients with the always on connected to internet. Hopefully if these rumor are true and they see the bad press generated already they would go back to the drawing board.
