Season 1 was by far the best thing I've ever seen on tv. I didn't say the series was the GOAT. Said the 1st season was. I agree the second season wasn't that good.

If season 1 of "Game of Thrones" is the best thing you've seen on TV, you're saying it's the GOAT. I never said GOAT series.

Just curious, what other shows do you watch? The only current show I'd put "Game of Thrones" over is "Boardwalk Empire". It would've been the #1 new show but "Homeland" took that spot. I wouldn't personally put "Game of Thrones" anywhere near "The Wire", "The Sopranos", "Breaking Bad", "Madmen", etc.

Personally, I like watching 3 the most. You had a drug cartel, a drug war, AND drug legalization. String vs. Avon's, Omar and Mouzone, and Jimmy was still butting heads with his bosses. The Bunk and Omar story was also pretty good

However, I can't even knock you for saying that about season 4. My favorite character is probably Michael Lee, and he starts getting gully in 4. First sign, when Marlo was handing out money, asks him if he's too much of a bytch to take it, he looks up like "You say something bout me?" Like he ain't even care if it was Marlo, he was just reacting. Then that training exercise with Chris and Snoop, foreshadowing?

Finally (I think last episode of 4), when Marlo sees Andre's ring.
Andre -> Marlo -> Omar -> Officer Walker -> Michael
That ring and all the jackmoves that it's spurred, and Michael ends up with it. It shows Michael at the top of the food chain, and as far as Marlo knows, he coulda taken it from Omar.

Also, Carver also becomes decent police.

I've watched all those shows. Game of Thrones season 1 thumps them all. I stopped watching the Sopranos and Mad Men after the first 3 episodes or so. Couldn't get into them. Homeland and Boardwalk Empire are overrated too. Even though I still watch them. Dexter, Breaking Bad and American Horror Story are up there.

Season 3 is like the middle porridge from Goldilocks...it combined the old school of the Barksdale saga from the first two seasons and the new school of the Marlo saga of the last two seasons. Throw in the Hamsterdam story, Cutty's story, the political angle, Bowtie and Omar etc....and its easily the GOAT wire season.

You could argue 1,3, & 4 all day. I feel like Season 1 has the most replay value though. As many times as I've watched this series over, I feel like I always get something new I didn't notice from Season 1.

I just got done watching SEASON 2 again. It's slept on. Them Greeks was gully. Frank Zabotka was a G. The port storyline was good to show how the flow of drugs comes in and how there are people way bigger then on the street level, like the GREEKS. But damn did that Brother Muzone backfire on Stringer like a mothafukka!

I think Season 1,3, and 4 are all on the same level. I'd probably give the edge to season 4, because the way those kids ended up was heartbreaking. Plus we lost a real soldier in BODIE.

Damn it was sad to see the Barksdale crew fall. My nikka Bodie, hate it had to be him.

Forgive me my Wire memory is hazy.

Is this the season when they were allowing the open drug trades down the corner; or when they introduced Micheal and his crew?

If this is the season where Barksdale and Stanfield crew were :bustback: at each other then I agree.

Season 4 = overrated

Season 2 = underrated

I do think S2 is underrated, but I don't think S4 is overrated. ESPECIALLY considering that they didn't have Stringer as a character to work with. I remember everyone being so mad they clipped off Stringer, and they made the perfect season in response to the Avon/Stringer story arc essentially being over.

They removed a huge part of why people loved the series in the 1st place and made what many think is the best season of the show. I commend them for that.

4 also has the best theme song IMO

The open drug trades Hamsterdam was S3. S4 was the battle between Barksdale's rise as well as the middle school kids with the education theme.

I believe Barksdale and Stanfield were going at each other in the second half of S3, and the season ended with Avon and Stringer snitching on each other. S4 was Marlo coming to power, and there wasn't much left of the Barksdale crew at that point if I'm right.
