If I was a member of double toasted I would give this a low full price. I'll give more detail later but it's a Oscar type of film. Alot of dialogue but when it's action it delivers.
My view. Minor spoilers. Now, for some of yall, this ain't for you. We have plenty of discussions on Oscar type films and some of yall don't like dialogue type of films. This is one of those films with some action. Movie basically is trying to get you into the world of Native Americans aka Indians and focus on the lack of concern of missing persons in their community. Basically Hawkeye is a white dude who around that community and his BM is Indian. The reservation is basically like their version of the hood and people trying to get out.
The beginning (again minor spoilers)- A body is discovered in the snow and the movie is basically revolves around finding out her cause of death. Elizabeth Olsen (skinny white girls ain't my cup of tea but at least she got a cute face) plays this out of town FBI agent. She's totally green to that community and basically has little idea on how to solve this case. Now feminist like Grace from Beyond the trailer, are probably going to criticize this film because the female in here seems less clueless then Hawkeye's character. I personally disagree and I think she was humble enough to ask for help. She wasn't going in there being a know it all and messing up either further. All the other supporting actors were good. Including the victim's family and "other" characters.
Action wise, although it wasn't constant like was out cold. There was one shoot out scene that was real good. It's not classic, Heat level, but it's good. I heard it's from the same poeple from "Hell and High Water" and you can definitely see that influence.
Negative: There are times when the dialogue is slow but that doesn't take away from the emotion from some parts. Another negative is the writers got lazy at some point. There is reveal that is so obvious that it treat the audience as stupid.
When Elizabeth asked the man where he got his on face from, I was disspointed. Why make that so obvious. I knew then that she was raped by somebody in their crew. And it wsan't just Matt who killed her.
But all in all if you like Oscar type films check it out. Not as good as Hell or High Water but it's still good.
