Living forever doesn't necessarily mean being a flabby, raggedy, wrinkly old fart in a wheelchair. If technology comes a long way there will be ways to slow down or reverse the aging process. Imagine being 100 years old and looking like a college student.

Okay...so what would be your plan if you could live forever? I mean really think about it and tell me what good could come from that?

What good could come from death?

I'm done with this topic. Too many religious people here who believe in some hocus pocus voodoo unicorn tooth fairy multi-dimensional nonsense. Hopefully in a couple of centuries Christianity/Judaism/Islam will fade away and we could finally move on.

I personally don't want to live past 80 years old. If you haven't done everything in that time-frame you've taken the L. I don't want to die young, but I see no reason to live forever and have others living forever so that we can crowd up this planet.

Part of living is knowing that you're gonna die. for some people time = a motivating factor- so without a sense of time you can either get complacent or unmotivated. NTM, every time you add a new fake organ you are becoming less of what makes you, you.

I don't think fusing our minds with AI and computers should be part of our evolution. We've had a natural evolution so advanced that we've had the ability to even come to this cross road. We can chose the natural development and innovation that got us this far.... or chose some stagnant superAI version to fuse our minds with, which could potentially destroy the human experience.

Oh yeah... and wanting to live forever is a mental disorder.

so are you saying religous people who believe in the after life also have a mental disorder?

remember that the after you die, religious people believe you get to live forever in heaven....they don't believe you go into some eternal blackness.....they also believe in living forever

so basically the only difference between transhumanists and religious people is that we want to live forever in this world while religious people wanna live forever in some made up world

:what: so you prefer black nothingness to fukking fine bytches forever?

if you believe in heaven, you essentially want to live forever as well

are you really arguing that not living is better than life? :why:

my plan if I were to live forever would be to explore the universe, fukk fine bytches, and smoke weed forever :troll:

if you are tired of life then off yourself right now stupid

Once we're done cracking the genetic code, we'll create god like beings, but "we" are too late to benefit, as we can't be reborn.

The idea is that the gods will be infants born with modified dna, such that every cell in their body takes on that dna. Maybe someday in the far future there will be dna transfusions, but it may be centuries till such bio tech.

no, won't happen... and the only ones who will get the benefit of this technology if it somehow manages to come into existence are the rich, elite... but really, it's a delusion.

the major step will be if they can successfully extract a brain, preserve it, then fuse it with a new body. If they can do that, then yes, all religion is bullsh*t. Maybe not for eternity, I think at some point you might want to kill yourself, but 500 years would be nice. But I don't know man, everything in the universe indicates life comes from death. Galaxies come from supernovas, dead cells fertilize the ground. Anyway, they've already done brain transplants on Monkeys:

wanting live physically is what was discussed. Some religious people believe in reincarnation... Some believe in an afterlife... none are talking about never dying so there's a difference.

trans humanist ignore the limitations of our planet, don't understand the cycle of life and how energy is recycled, and .... also have the mental disorder of wanting to life forever - even is that means negating the human experience all together.

And you absolutely entitled to your opinion breh...however me myself...i feel that the flesh is our lowest point of existence. ..i believe that we exist on multiple planes of consciousness and dimensions...and this happens to be the elementary school level for our spirit. ..where we learn of what we are we struggle we laugh we cry we hurt and we gaze into the stars and ask why...then we return to the realm of ancestors which we came from where we knew all the answers in the first place...

I believe rising to godhood here on earth can only be achieved by activating the Christ Consciousness within
Christ Consciousness (Christusbewustzijn)

* i am not religious*

It's already happening. But I think it's more so reaching our true, individual potentials. Or being on the path to such. It's outlined in Robert Greenes Mastery. Machiavellies, the Prince. The True spiritual teachings of every religion. The truth is out. The Self is on the Rise and the Ego is deflating rapidly. You can see it in one and all. Light is growing, darkness is flailing. Just let people know they won't be left behind.

We all were born in a fukked up world so we can't blame ourselves or each other. Babylon is falling. Just let people tripping know it's okay to be who they are, don't look back. Like Orpheus out of Hades, were stepping out of Plato's Cave now brehs. Every myth or archetype, movie, art medium, human points to this. Embrace who you are, good and bad. Drop your Ego. Listen to yourself innate, intuitive self.

It's a process but we're actually moving towards something the world hasn't seen yet. I have no spoilers.

Only the leaders of the old world need fear. Whole world is coming down around their ears. Justice will be served for 9/11 and everything til now. :whew:

We the People brehs. Real recognize real. Keep calm carry on. Enjoy Freedom of Thought. But don't be a menace and all that. BE YOU. Peace.

just like the rich are the only ones who'll benefit from cell phones....oh wait......kids in africa got cell phones now

remember in the 80s when cell phones were the size of bricks and only the super rich could afford it? now everyone and they mama got smartphones that are a million times more powerful

sure technology starts of expensive when its new and don't work too well.....but by the time is matures and becomes really effective......it also becomes cheap

life extension technology will at first be available to only the super rich but it will eventually be affordable to everyone.......you don't become wealthy as a manufacturer by just selling to a few rich people......you become mega rich when you can sell your product to the masses......and for it to be sold to the masses it has to be affordable.....this is simple economics

now your just playing semantics

what transhumanists want is to live in this dimension as you religious people believe you will live in the afterlife......you can laugh at us and claim we are fools for believing technology and sicence will allow us to achieve heaven on earth.....but stop acting like what you want is something different.......we ALL want to live forever whether that is in a theoretical other dimension (heaven) or in this one........the only difference is that we are willing to go on something other than FAITH

real talk

these religious clowns are idiots

the only reason the afterlife bs was started by humans is because we fear the inevitable annihilation of our consciousness........every moment we live we are aware that we will die in the future.......without the myth of god or life after death, it unlikely we woulda made it this far as a society

I'd rather take my chances with science and technology than religion. The chances of life after death are nil, just like everything else stated by religion.
