HE'S NOT BLACK!!!!!!!
Who cares
Sometimes after sustained success these guys get woke
Hell the Rock is about to star as Black Adam....the name is Black!
He has taken roles where he plays a Black man. He's playing John Henry in a Netflix movie. And guess what? People got angry because The Rock is too racially ambiguous to play a Black person, and therefore is taking away a role that could go an actual Black actorActions speak louder than words. Every role he takes is non black. Now what type of black man would do this?
Stop trying to claim and reel in people who dont wanna claim you. It's embarrassing like grasping at straws alsmost
That's one of the major issues i often have with my own people (Haitians). They always trying to reach for those who have never represented or claimed or acknowledged us. From Usher to Maxwell to Black Griffin to Dave Dove (De La Soul).
Acting ignorant and wearing fitteds and chains and appearing in rap videos and black lives matters rallysOh, that's right, it's a new year. Gotta get the annual "The Rock doesn't claim his blackness" thread out the way.
Even though the Rock has always identified as exactly what he is, half black and half Samoan. Outside of daps, if you created this thread for meaningful discussion, please give us examples of what it means to "embrace blackness." What kind of behavior is he not engaging in that he should be.
What exactly should The Rock be doing that he's not doing that apparently all the other black celebrities are doing?
Bruh...the man purposely casts kids and wives that dont look black....
This makes no sense. Hispanic isn't a race. David Ortiz is Hispanic and he black as hell. JJ Barea is Hispanic and he white as hell. You talking about his hair. Black people have different hair textures and some are more mixed than others. The Rock looks like a lightskinned black man more than anything.Everyone sees what they want to see, breh - whatever. He doesn’t look black at all to me in those pictures. If anything, he looks more Hispanic with that hair. At the end of the day, who cares?
That's wrong. When the Rock debuted, he was Rocky Maivia. They pushed him as the grandson of High Chief Peter Maivia.
