Past couple seasons Giannis looked like an athletic freak with an all time motor who couldn’t make the adjustments needed to win a big playoff series. His adjustment was hit the turbo button and jump really high. Really painful to watch. Against Brooklyn it looked like he was back to square one again, except this time he was bricking 3s the Nets were baiting him into taking too.

Then something clicked for dude and for the coaching staff. And he took a leap like I’ve never seen before. I still can’t believe what this dude just did. Beyond being elite on both ends of the floor on the biggest stage, the sheer focus to go 17/19 from the line in a closeout game
:wow:

And it seemed like his peers were against him. Lil Baby’ s weed carrier called him unskilled. KD allegedly bristled at ever being compared to him. Players on twitter implying he was a coward for not guarding KD one on one. Urkel arguing his teammate deserves Finals MVP. Media openly setting the table for CP3’s coronation, letting Zeke give him an early bouquet of flowers that Giannis ultimately ripped out his hands and stomped on. Bron showing up courtside to cheer on his ferret-faced foul-baiting dikk-punching banana boat bozo buddy.

Giannis took all that in stride and delivered one of the single most dominant and unforgettable Finals I’ve ever witnessed.

Not sure I’ve ever seen anything like this.

That's the best part about him going for 50 and playing at an elite level on both ends, he PROVED everybody WRONG.
I think it’s more so that he played his game and won his way. He didn’t do what people said he had to do to dominate in the modern game. But I also think it helped that it was the Suns and you could just tell that the Bucks never felt this team could beat them. He was like they can’t guard me. fukk them.
