Phoenix is doing the standalone Joker film that is set in a different timeline. I doubt they'll cast another Joker in the immediate future.

I know. I'm talking about WB supposedly cancelling the solo Leto Joker and Joker/Harley movies. Reeves is doing his own shyt so that's not gonna happen either. Odds are he's done too

They never green lit any of those projects. Harley Quinn is just gonna be in Birds of Prey and then the Suicide Squad sequel with James Gunn directing. I could see Matt Reeves casting a Joker if it's a trilogy but that would be years down the road.

I can't seen Idris Elba being Deadshot. Why not Bronze Tiger or Black Spider?
They don’t want to get rid of Deadshot. And as a character, he’s gold. Not saying the others aren’t, but if you lose will, you gotta cast someone else who’s also a name. Idris is a name. Not as big as will obviously but still big. And if and James Gunn get along, then I’m for it.
Idris deserves a big franchise, man. We know he ain’t surviving Hobbs and Shaw so this would be a great look. A solo deadhsot movie starring him possibly directed by Gunn or David leitch would be dope.

I wouldn't have had a problem with Idris as Deadshot if Will hadn't been him first. Although I did like him in Suicide Squad, all I saw was Will Smith, not Floyd Lawton. Deadshot is supposed to be a assassin with a death wish whose only soft spot was his daughter. In Suicide Squad he didn't come across as a POS, he came across as just a father wanting to get out the life and raise his daughter. Will Smith is too likable of guy and is evident in his portrayal of Deadshot.
Idris can be a hero and also a POS as evident in The Wire and the movie he was in with Taraji Henson where he was a woman beater(forgot the name).
Unless Gunn's movie is going to be a soft reboot and basically ignore the previous film I can't see him as Deadshot.
