Exactly. If they leave out SMU then schools will push to eliminate conference championship games.

Why when its the top 20-25 chance to get in.

Arizona st was picked to be last in the Big 12.. without a conferwnce championship they arent in. They on a hella hot streak.

End of the day..the cry babies are the ones that controlled their own destiny. Im talking about win a game and you in type destiny.

Having more "ranked wins" is a useless metric because SEC teams will often be ranked higher in preseason polls...probably half the conference gets ranked.

They win their easy OOC games and then play each other. If everyone is ranked, doesn't play tough OOC and then loses to each other....no one falls far and then if they win, they get the boost.

The losses have to matter more than the wins. All ranked wins being in-conference is pointless when hardly anyone in the conference played a tough OOC.

Of course the ATL
This is my thinking.

SMU gets pushed down to #12, Clemson/ASU/Bama are in and the Canes get left out.
There’s no scenario where SMU & Bama get in (they are both at large teams)

Clemson and ASU are auto bids for winning their conference championships

I'm saying Clemson is now in and Miami is out. Bama stays in along with IU and SMU.
So you are saying:

Conference Champs
  1. Oregon
  2. ASU
  3. Boise
  4. Clemson
  5. UGA
The Rest
  1. Texas
  2. Penn State
  3. Tennessee
  4. Ohio State
  5. Alabama
  6. SUM
  7. ND
What am I missing because IU can’t be in

I dont think you understand the playoffs and tie ins. Miami was been out once bama was in front of them. We were just a place holder til Big 12 champion was decided since they were 15 and 16. Once ASU won, they get auto bid which knocks us out. Thats why LAST WEEK the dreaded spot was 12 because it was just a place holder and the true last spot was #11. Bama and SMU cant both be in unless you start dissecting teams like Indiana which doesnt seem to be the case from anybody really.

Awful chokejob by smu to lose in regulation. You give up a long kick return to the 45 then you play super soft coverage to allow an uncontested catch at your 40 yard line to make it even easier for the wr to get upfield for extra yardage. why have a spy on that play? if youre going to do that why not just have him drop into a 15 yard zone that way hes in coverage and can keep an eye on the qb.
