The money that Shahid gave Tony to start up AEW was his future inheritance money. He was skeptical AEW from the start, and didn't believe it would be a success. So if that was the case, he wouldn't have given him the money in the first place. The problem is Tony is a control freak and doesn't want to delegate the booking to others because he thinks people are going to backstab him.

If he feels that way about booking, I highly doubt he would be open to bringing in other investors.

You would think this situation and the fallout would be an eye opener for him, but I guess we’ll see if that’s the case. Kudos to him for punishing everyone involved including his friends, but he likely didn’t have a choice in the matter PR wise.
