PLUS he has the most goals ever. by far.

Assists in hockey is a bit of a flawed stat. Two players can get an assist on one goal and you can even get an assist if a player scores off of a rebound from your shot.

Mario Lemieux's junior hockey stats are insane. Had he not had injury problems his whole career and not had a 3 year retirement he would've smashed Gretzky's goal record. He missed out on a 200 point season twice in his career because of his back problems and played over 500 less games than the Great One.
