American Capitalism has the GOAT propaganda wing. I'll give it that. People always talk about what competing economic system wouldn't work in America when Capitalism itself barely works in America (for the average citizen, you know, the persons that matter) despite the entire system being designed and maintained for it's success.

We are the wealthiest and most powerful nation in the world yet we are full of poor, fat, uneducated, mentally/emotionally deficient, and violent citizens. You'd think if Capitalism worked the whole country would be prospering, not just the stock market. If you truly believe it's working as designed and you're okay with that you're an idiot.

Capitalism working as intended only lasted about 30 years (if that), from 1945-1975. And that's being generous. For the first 20 years Black Americans didn't even get a chance to participate. By the time we were granted "the right" to fully engage with the system any elements meant to benefit the common man were actively being dismantled.

When I see someone, particularly a black person, champion Capitalism it reminds me of how a toddler puts on their father's clothing; they look silly. Worse yet, you aren't even supposed to be in the house, let alone touching stuff. We are neither loved nor wanted here. It's one thing to take advantage of the broken American Capitalist machine, but to champion it. Sickening. :picard:

because you have direct access to your landlord than you do the faceless CEO of whatever bank or realty company

That’s exactly what it is. Have more anger and ire for the landlord instead of the actual culprit of the problem.

It’s amazing how people will be ready to throw hands and fight their landlord, but won’t say a word when the bank steps into the fold. Have the same energy for one as you do the other.

Capitalism encourages and promotes these sort of petty dictators. You pluck a malcontent from the rabble, tell them they mean something to the system now, give them a child sized cowboy hat and a popgun and a few morsels instead of the usual crumb and you now you have a new petty dictator ready to execute the full "authority" (:mjlol:) that they've been granted. Also you have a man on the ground to shield the REAL power from the frustration and ire of the general rank and file. Oh, and the violence.

These petty dictators might have 10% of the authority that the Capitalists of means wield but are encouraged to carry themselves as if they have 150% of said authority. This is why people generally aren't fond of low level management (supervisors) nor landlords; two types of petty dictators.

Anytime I see a Black person support Socialism, I immediately know that White Acceptance is at the top of their list, and completely ignorant of the history of Socialism against Black people. That State has always been our enemy

- Slavery was State sanctioned
- Jim Crow Laws was State sanctioned
- Prison Industrial Complex is state sanctioned
- Union Laws against Black people are state sanctioned
- Welfare laws to get the Black man out of Black Family homes was state sanctioned

Black people in America took themselves out of poverty and subjugation through Capitalism from 1880-1960

Jim Crow was A REACTION to Black people's success with Small Business
Welfare laws was A REACTION to Black people's success with a strong family structure
Union laws in the early 1900s was A REACTION to Black people's success in the Job Market

Coli Socialists really are scared to say they are not comfortable with complete Black Economic Autonomy. At least @Wild self is the only honest one on this site

I agree the state has always been our enemy. State sanctioned slavery, Jim Crow and state sanctioned and funded Capitalism (or Corporate Socialism). I'm not a major proponent of socialism by the way so throwing out the lazy "but socialism is bad too" card doesn't work with me. Okay socialism is bad.....so what? We're a Capitalist country, remember? Capitalism is atrocious. It could be better, much better. But any change that doesn't include "MAXIMIZE PROFIT" is considered "socialism." Same people feeding you said garbage will HAPPILY take bailout money/tax breaks/handouts offered by the Government at taxpayer expense. Funny how that works.

Also, union laws were a reaction to horrible labor conditions. But you already know this and are just arguing for argument's sake like some right wing pundit.

Again, parroting White Liberal talking points gets you nowhere. Look up the History of how Unions were formed

Labor Unions and the Negro:The Record of Discrimination

"The Negro worker’s historical experience with organized labor has not been a happy one. In the South, unions frequently acted to force Negroes out of jobs that had formerly been considered theirs. Before the Civil War, Negroes had been carpenters, bricklayers, painters, blacksmiths, harness-makers, tailors, and shoemakers. However, in urban centers like New Orleans, the historian Charles B. Rousseve observed in The Negro in Louisiana, “the Negro who in ante-bellum days performed all types of labor, skilled and unskilled, found himself gradually almost eliminated from the various trades.” Unionization in the South often led to the redesignating of “Negro jobs” as “white man’s work,” and even to excluding Negroes from entire industries."

That's the problem with alot of ya'll Coli Socialists. Being for Capitalism =/= Being for Corporatism. fukk these Large Corporations. You said it yourself, its "Corporate Socialism". Why would someone who is truly for Free market want that? And anyone who does is a Socialist IMO, and too coward to admit that. Don't muddle the thought process by assuming people are so in love with Large Corporations

Take away these goofy Social programs for Individuals (Welfare, Section 8, Lengthy Unemployment, etc) and take away goofy Social programs for Corporations (Bailouts, Ease of Bankruptcy, No tax Earnings when they are hoarding profits)

MY VIEW of Capitalism should be the focus on Small Business Owners and Self Employed workers. Because they are the Lifeblood of the Economy. Period

Those low level management are just the middle man and buffer to take the fall for the failures of the REAL Power. That's one of the reasons why organizations love to add so many buffers to an organization as it's more people that can take the fall and easily be replaced with someone else that will do the bidding of the real power in charge. They hope that the lower managers of the organization will address the issues and keep customers happy so they don't have to. Even then, more times than not, you're better off dealing with those petty dictators as the real power in charge is more even and less compassionate than those lower level members you're complaining about.

Another real life concept would be customer service reps and managers having to deal with the anger and ire from customers for the top level managements failures even if they have no direct way to solve the actual problem at hand.

You can even use the video game trope of the final boss stepping in and handling business because of the repeated failures from the lower level members of the organization. That same concept applies to these type of situations.

Going after the landlord serves no purpose if 1. Someone will take his/her place and do the bidding of the bank or realty company or 2. The bank itself takes over and kicks you out anyways.
