Setting a bad precedent.

Assange isn't a US citizen and he works for a non-US organization.

This means China can then issue arrest warrants for non-Chinese journalist working for non-Chinese organization if they publish documents they deem harmful to China.

Any country can do so going forward. Extremely short-sighted.

He was indicted for conspiring to hack DoD computers, not for publishing documents.

Is that worse precedent than an alleged rapist hiding out in an embassy of a country he has no ties to for seven years to avoid arrest, extradition, and trial for a rape case after losing all of his appeals via the courts.

Manning hacked them when he/she was in the military. The only thing Assange did was publish the information Manning provided.

The DoD labeling that as 'conspiring' is a slippery slope. Any foreign government can then label anyone who publishes information it deems harmful to their national security as 'conspiring'. I don't think we should get into that.

Once you have your allies in other parts of the world and the power to politically do anything, its expected the U.S. / U.K. was always out to get this man no matter the means, no matter what....:francis:
