I think he thought he'd be granted asylum like Snowden. What was dudes plan? Did he really plan on living the rest of his days in the embassy? He got what he deserved. No one told him to do what he did.
Hold up. What you got against Snowden? He was arrested for hacking not "journalism" or simply publishing stolen documents. Talk about going out of your way to defend this guy.
I know a lot of you bought into the Snowden legend as well

The revelation of PRISM alone was a massive public service, not to mention the Verizon records and all the other snooping programs that were being used against the American public.

If your gripe is that he harmed CIA efforts in their international spy games, to get me to care about that you'd first have to prove to me that the CIA is a benign organization that works for the public good. And that would be a pretty hard sell. I would be against any actions meant to lead to the death of actual CIA persons, and so far as I understand that didn't happen. If they had to pull someone out or some of their techniques lost some value, well any tears I shed for the CIA are gonna be fake.
Don't agree with this. He won't get a fair trail either.
I think you've framed an argument that reinforces your beliefs and makes them unquestionable.
How about the source code and other NSA tools getting in the hands of rogue-nation states and being used against Americans? It's not the fact that Snowden and others like him pulled the cover off of unlawful things happening within our government, its the fact that they allowed the byproducts of these things to get in the hands of our enemies.Well it's remarkably easy when there's no opposing argument.
Give me the argument for Snowden being in the wrong that doesn't rely on "America's ability to interfere in other nations' business is more important than other nations' right not to have America interfere with them."
I think he thought he'd be granted asylum like Snowden.
I think he got fukked when the new leader of Ecuador who was more pro-western came to office. What was dudes plan? Did he really plan on living the rest of his days in the embassy? He got what he deserved. No one told him to do what he did.
