Oh she's compromised, how? She talked with Assad about the war and think like MOST Americans we should leave. I guess most Americans are agents now to.
Yeah, just say that then. You like interventionist wars that never turn out well and she doesn't.
This ignores that she went on a regime-sponsored propaganda tour of Syria.

How does that discount her position on US intervention?
It's like, "fukk the will of the people she dared to find out for herself what was going on in Syria"
"Let me go on this fact-finding mission that's sponsored by the regime of this dictator who gasses his own people!"

"Next, I'll go find out what's *really* going on in North Korea by taking this state-sponsored tour!"

Repeating what you previously said is not a counter point. lol
Remember in the 2004 presidential campaign people applauded Obama for saying he would meet rogue leaders without preconditions. I wonder where the energy you are displaying was at then. :francis:

I have mixed feelings about this.

On one hand I support what wikileaks was created to do.

On the other hand for all appearances Assange has started playing favors and carrying water for a tyrant rather than actually following his stated aims.
Assange was involved in trying to hack. That’s where you cross the line and lose journalist protection under law.

Second the obligation of the press with leaks is to use discretion. He just dumped whatever he had that made Dems look worst including meaningless personal conversations of lower level ambassadors.

Finally he Endangered lives with his indiscriminate leaking. Iraqi spies had their identities revealed and had to flee.

I actually don't mind leaking spies, as you could argue that what they did, or at least the general philosophy behind it, does more harm than good. Spies fleeing is not the worst outcome.

I'm of mixed feelings regarding hacking.

It's the second issue that's the problem for me. He started acting partisan - leaking meaningless shyt just to make some people look worse cause of his grudge against Clinton, but holding onto shyt about Russia when Putin is ten times worse for freedom. He wasn't operating on any principles of freedom of speech or fighting the powers or anything like that anymore - he was just carrying water for a tyrant in order to get his own personal revenge.

I would have felt the same way if he had been picking on Bush or Trump. The USA is bad, but people who think that the USA is uniquely bad and that there's something better about the Russians or the Saudis of whoever (other than a matter of scale) are lost and aren't going to make anything any better.

Nah you're just a dumb fukk. Because all i've been saying is that this sets a bad precedent for journalists.

shyt, all you see on Twitter are journalists saying this sets a bad precedent. Are those journalist defending a rapist? Is AOC defending a rapist for saying the same shyt?

He’s not being prosecuted for his “journalism”. You’re being dishonest.

Yes, they’re defending a rapist.

Yes, they’re defending a rapist.

He was arrested for conspiring to hack a password for which was not even successful. If your being honest about this, if this was some random hacker the authorities would not have aggressively pursued him the way they did. But it's the fact that he leaked classified info is why he became a priority target.

How many times have an individual been pursued internationally like this for conspiring to hack?

If we're really being honest about this the reason you and others wanted this dude arrested is because he helped beat Clinton:yeshrug:
