As a fan of NINTENDO the reactions I've read about the Wii-U I hope this filth flops something terrible. Hopefully that pushes them into bringing out a console which is worthy enough to grace my TV set.

As stated in my first post I don't care about who sells the most consoles or who is for real gamers or not. Nintendo made the console they wanted to make, people bought it and they were able to turn a profit is all I was saying. I stopped caring about "console wars" in highschool breh.

Yea, but let's be reality, some of you guys may me eating a little bit of crow. The Wii U has a much better launch than the Wii and the Gamecube had from a games standpoint. I got the Batman game and Mario game for my Wii you and that touchscreen is a pretty novel concept. The system looks as good as my PS3 and XBox on my tv, so that's not really an issue. Also, I think the gap between generations is shrinking somewhat, I don't think next gen is going to make the same leap as previous gens, at least not immediately. So this talk of the Wii U running on last generation does not have as much traction. Also the sheer number of ports at this juncture show that porting games is a lot easier on this than it was on the Wii, you don't really have to dumb the graphics down that much maybe just adjust the optimization and resolution. Nintendo has at least a year head start on the next wave of systems and quite frankly, by the time Sony and Microsoft drop their next systems they will probably drop the price. It's quite ingenious business wise.

My only major gripe about the Wii U, is storage, even though you can remedy that with an external, but still it's a problem, especially since Nintendo is going to have an extensive download library very quickly and the internet implementation is still ass backwards, albeit considerable better than the Wii, though I kind of understand since the Wii-U skews a lot younger and parents get nervous.

I'll just address the launch titles. They suck. Nothing really innovative for the system. Then they got a bunch of games that was geared towards the xbox/ps3 that was ported. Those are not LAUNCH titles, those are ports
There is a difference. NSMBwii-u is a launch.. zombie u... ports at launch are ports at launch. Slight difference. And it still can't run the ports as good as the 6yr old systems. So why are you acting like those weak ports are strengths?

as far as why third party developers didn't develop for wii, that was for three main reasons:
1) not powerful enough
2) not HD
3) the motion control system for wii would have required a large effort in game redesign and reprogramming when porting.

when those three things where added together, it was just not worth it.

with the next gen, wii-u may be behind graphically but it wont be far behind, not like the difference in this generation. HD is no longer an issue and in all likelyhood, nextbox and PS4 are going to have touch screen tablets too, so control programming will be more similar. plus wii-u comes with the pro controller. unless microsoft and sony develop a completely new way to play games, i dont think it will be as big an issue this time around.
