Following your dreams. You can make good money if you manage to make a good name for yourself and get signed by WWE, AEW, etc. You can travel the world. Have adoring fans, but not so many that you can't live a pretty normal public life otherwise.

The downsides are, of course, that the industry is like 95% scum, you have to be willing to destroy your body, and if you find yourself on the indie grind almost all the benefits I listed above are erased unless you really hit big.

Not everyone has to work in an office or fast food. :skip:

The odds of making it big time and getting a decent check aren’t really high though. :ld:

shyt, we grew up with the IWC. We’ve all read how fukked up things are and the struggles it takes to be a wrassler. I don’t know why people wouldn’t want to stay a fan than pursue a possible career in the biz. :manny:

For the glamorous life of the indy wrestler, of course :ohlawd:

Paying your dues working for free on Chikara for an entire year under a silly mask:ahh:

Getting your arteries cut by Nick Gage:ahh:

Risking your health working in IWA Mid-South's disease ridden ring:ahh:

Paying some z-rate former WWE superstar for a supposed "tryout" with the company and he ends running out with your money:ahh:

Working CZW and breaking your neck trying to make high flying maneuvers with those loose ass ropes:ahh:

Sleeping in your car every night until Nick Gage steals your tires and cut your arteries again:ahh:

You do know that the WWE was financially successful this year right? Even AEW was able to turn a profit in its first year.

Financials reported that they squeezed more money out of the average fan. Its also being reported that not running house shows during the pandemic is actually making them more money.

The ratings for raw are 1.9 million. You guys have no clue how pathetic that is. There is not a God damn thing on TV and people still won't watch this shyt. We can safely say that there's only 2 million fans of wrestling in America.

It's a dying industry. The only thing valuable is it's tape library. Wouldn't be surprised if that's worth atleast 100 mill. Vince is legitimately an awful businessman, he failed at everything he tried. All he did was considered the industry, which any businessman with the most money does. Every other thing he does is a collosal failure.

Usually when you’re a mark from an early age, it stays with you. You aspire to be like the people who influenced you, even when reasonable or conventional wisdom might say otherwise. Being a 6 cert 6 figures coli breh (:lolbron:) on paper pays better than being in the biz unless you work for a major fed or something. But when it’s your dream and all you wanted since you were 8, the bullshyt, racism, xenophobia, sexism, etc. becomes easier to tolerate when it’s your passion.

Because it gets them noticed on television which could lead to acting roles. Everybody wants to be the Rock not Hogan.
