loved the look and tone of it. i'm fine with a more gritty superman. we've had enough of the cheesy reeves-style silver-age superman portrayals. I like how the DC movies take themselves seriously. their not trying to be disneyfied comedies like the marvel flicks

the action & special fx were :banderas:

the fight scenes were  it usurped matrix revolutions as the greatest ever live-action DBZ style fights

the suit designs were fukking trill too

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
It was a reboot origins movie that was rushed.
The main villains got limited screen time
They focused more on special effects and less on the script
Poor character development
Too many plot holes
The ending was anticlimactic.

The ONLY thing that made this movie tolerable was the action which is why they rushed the story to get to it.

A lot of the most vocal criticism of it came from two camps:
Camp #1 - The old school Christopher Reeves movie Superman fans who even though they hated Superman Returns which was basically a continuation of that style of Superman film, got turned off by a different take on the character from the old school version where Superman was a boy scout, Clark Kent was a bumbling goofball and the movie was full of screwball comedy stuff.

Camp #2 - Marvel stans

I liked it myself and considered the best super-hero movie to come out in 2013...it was a more science fiction movie take on the Superman origin story and for the first time in the history of Superman on the big screen we got to actually see some awesome action/fight scenes.

outside of the fight scenes it was a little weak.
- i hated they kept jumping around from the past to present.
- they really didn't need lois lane in this movie. She shouldn't know who superman is from the jump of his story. that shyt was wack. Plus they didn't make her as tough as they should've
- pa kent dying to save a puppy :stopitslime:. I understand he did it to save clark's identity, but at least make it more meaningful

- but everything else was tough. Seeing metropolis buildings getting crushed was :wow:
- than the fight scenes was on some DBZ shyt.

See a few of you keep talkin about the fight scenes and for me personally they just didn't do it for me.

I swear to god the first time I saw the trailer for Amazing Spiderman 2 I was in legit :ohhh: mode. I never saw a movie do Spiderman like that. The Raimi movies were great for their time but none of them captured the awe and power of Spiderman the way this one did. I know it's just a trailer and I know the movie is gonna blow (it looks like the Spidey version of Batman Forever :mjlol:) but I can't front it look and feels like a Spiderman comic come to life.

MOS never did that for me and it's a shame because if you've ever seen me post here you'd know Supes is my favorite superhero. And with all due respect to the other superheroes none of them have the potential for such mindblowing action and mindblowing visuals as Superman does. Remember we're talking about the most powerful superhero of them all (relax nerds I'm speaking figuratively) so there's no reason why I should be more amazed watching an Iron Man movie as I am a Superman movie. There's no reason why I should be more amazed watching a CAPTAIN AMERICA movie than I am a Superman movie.

MOS had some intense action but it wasn't done gracefully. You never felt the impact or sensed the awe of what was happening. Compare it to that first fight scene between Batman and Bane in TDKR where there's so much less happening on the screen and yet it feels 10x more powerful. MOS looks and feels like a video game in comparison.

I'm still waiting for that movie to come along to really display Superman in all his glory and make people actually go "wow" like they did back in 1978. A movie that not only captures your heart but one that really makes you feel the wonder and POWER of Superman. Like when you watch Avengers you really FEEL the power of Hulk in that movie. Superman should come off like 10x as powerful. When he punches something it should sound like ten fukkin m80's went off at once. When he takes off to the skies it should sound like a rocket just took launch.

Snyder never took me back to that feeling of being 3 and being in awe of watching a man fly.

It was cool except for the fact that he didn't become "Superman" until he was 33 years old.

The blasts from the past threw me off a lil too I would have rather had a hour as a kid and another hour and a half as the MOS.

Still better than the Spider Man movies we've been subjected too (I'm a die hard Spidey fan)
