Man Luger was my favorite wcw wrestler when I started watching in '96. He was much better fit over in wcw because wwf tried to turn him into the next hulk hogan which was just never gonna work. Plus he didn't have the personality to pull off the Mr. America gimmick

I still remember when the moment when he beat Hogan for the title. One of the best wrestling moments from my childhood

Face Luger had a hot comeback that worked great with heels that fed well like Flair and Hollywood Hoegan. Those late 80s title matches had crazy atmosphere but Flair kept killing the business not dropping the belt to him with Dusty finishes.
