I don't know if that's the full story.

1. In the 80s and 90s, the golden era also known as one of the greatest eras in music overall, New York shytted out classics and great artists. Therefore NY is overrepresented in legends and classic albums. If we are talking the 2000s, it's often not "biased" in any direction. The so-called pro-New Yorkism comes from that fact too. And let's not forget about how many legends from NY are left out of discussions too, they were just too many at one point in time.

2. The West Coast is not disrespected, they were just not as many people as the East Coast and even if you go on Spotify and check artists. BIG's biggest fanbase is LA after NY/BK, Jay's biggest LA after NY/BK.

does trick daddy get lots of love elsewhere? i think he is universally kinda slept on, even by other southerners. same with project pat. if you are a southerner who can really spit, you need to make some more universal sounding music so that people outside your region will keep talking about you (andre3k) because sitting around talking about lyrics is primarily an eastcoast activity. i dont see southerners themselves making a big deal out of trick daddy unless he is acting a fool for some attention.
