This shyt is not a big a deal as being made out. Obviously you’ll have a few pockets of people like this but go to Africa and I would tell you over 95% of people don’t use this shyt. The western media of course will cling onto anything that makes them look good and others bad.
Like you can speak on what 95% of Africans are doing. It’s always some lame like you trying to stifle conversation.
Tbh, black people not really on it, it's Asians
Well stereotypically, Jamaicans do it alot. I can't speak on it though because again, it's just a stereotype. Maybe it's true, idk.
A lot of you post just to see your words on the screen.

We've always had yella people that want to remain yellow and keep that golden privilege however African Americans have the pride of dark skin embedded into the culture. Colorism is big issue for our women and affirmative action life tactics for women of darker shades if definitely something we do, rather people like it or not. Out every ethnicity in the world, I'm quite confident that my people are the number one opposers to this. And likely, always has been.

Its beyond Stereotypical

Its PSYCOLOGICAL ramifications based on the social issues of Class and Race

Im of carribean descent and i have family in Jamaica as well

For many decades they have had like a caste system there ...

Where being fair skinned was a status symbol

Buju Banton caused an uproar back in the early 90s when he released a song stating he loved his "browning" (lightskinned woman) more than anything in the world

Its really a sad sad pathetic situation

I always misuse the term "African Americans" because as an African its a weird term to me

Being a Gahnian doesn’t make you qualified to speak on what 95% of Africans are doing. If you’ve got verifiable information that proves what you say ten post it otherwise you’re just talking out of your ass seemingly out of embarrassment.

After doing a quick google search, I found out that skin bleaching is a $10 billion industry as it’s gotten so bad that Ghana has taken steps to ban skin bleaching products. If skin bleaching is no big deal and only 5% of Africans use the products then why is it such a big industry in Africa and why did your country ban the products?

Skin-lightening is a $10 billion industry, and Ghana wants nothing to do with it

Above the fray.
Black Americans maybe not, but its growing in West Africa and some African Americans are picking up the trends

Nah, whether people see it or not, it DEFINITELY goes down in the USA and has for decades.

People deflecting or doing the obvious finger pointing at specific nationalities......go to google books and read all the Ebony and Jet magazines of the past 60 years for free. you'll see skin lightening product ads in every issue.

THAT'S A GOTTDAMN LIE

We all are guilty of it.....africans..carribeans...afro latinoes....

and especiaclly the AA GANG (AFRICAN AMERICANS)

I live in the deep south breh..been here for 20 years now...and i done seen it all amongst AFRICAN AMERICANS

Like the variuos fraternal orgnaizations that practiced coloroisim such as the AKA's (light brights) during its earlier time and L' Shanti

or the Historical Black church i came across in southeast Georgia which was told by many elders in the community that it was the "REDBONE CHURCH"

im not making this up....if you were DARKER than the light mahagony front door entrance ...u really wasn't gonna be accepted ....

unless YOU HAD MONEY like my uncle whom happned to be a dark skin man who made alot of money working on the railroad as one of the first black men to work for that rail company during the times of segregation.....

and married a LIGHTSKINED woman ..as his "pass"

so dont tell me that bullshyt about AFRICAN AMERICANS being more "culturally prideful" or opposed to colorisim...

african americans are some of the biggest abusers because of our desire to be ASSIMILIATED into mainstream (white) society...

look at all the AFRICAN AMERICAN RAPPERS who will skip over 10 beautiful dark skin women just to get to one average looking Yellow bone female :manny:

or the countless legions of black people famous and non famous whom view themselves as ugly...

"hearthrob never..BLACK and ugly as ever" - Biggie :francis:

come on breh.......stop this tribal shyt...WE ALL FUKKED UP IN THE HEAD AS BLACK PEOPLE

OUR ISSUES ARE ON A GLOBAL LEVEL.....
