He was in his mid life crisis. He hated that he was a lame high school teacher and when he experienced the adrenaline that came with the drug business, he couldnt walk away from it and go back to his boring ass life with his bytch wife and retard son

It's why, even tho I know I'm in the minority, I can't rock with the Skylar hate. Walt's the bad guy here, unnecessarily blew up his family due first to his pride then to his addiction.
It's not so much about siding with Walt over Skyler.

She was an unlikeable wife and treated her husband awful long before he "broke bad"

This. I actually "hated her" but her character was essentially written to be unlikeable. If it came out today, you'd get thinkpieces about how she's a strong woman-- but in reality, she was annoying as shyt.
