@Loose laptops are not a thing of the past. im speculating but im willing to bet that we're about to see a lot of other things taking on that "___book" form factor. valve is already talking that pc shyt in regard to their console.

look at how our generation is so focused on mobility now. like i said in the other thread, apple is already doing well with gaming. thats why right there. all their portable products can be docked to something stationary or beamed across a network to something stationary or both. all of them.

look at windows 8. unified interface and capability across all devices. this essentially means windows 8 laptops = dockable consoles. an xbox with a screen already attached. look at dockable ipads and tablets

thats where consoles are going, if not thats where they need to be going. so in my estimation laptops are not over next gen will breathe new life into them...

TYRONE GA!
The issue is xbox360 owners aren't unhappy with the product people like rekka who dont even own one is upset that its successful

Nope, Chile Grapes....:lookherebruh:

I had a 360 (two of them in fact), but with my situation with traveling every week and only being able to get online at hotels with my ps3 due to it's web browser so I can authenticate, it made the 360 worthless to me. I had to travel with a fukkin router to get online on the road with my 360. looking like a clown at the airport and shyt. That and the fact that not only did I pay to play online, but the exclusives weren't enough to have me keep it in addition to my ps3 which did everything the 360 did. I had no problem paying online at the time I owned my 360s since you could bootleg games and still get online, but when that was over, it was like fukk MS.

I'm not upset at the 360's success, I'm upset at them nikkaz at MS charging mufukkaz to use their own connection to play other people and conning mufukkaz with this whole "community" shyt. Not to mention charging nikkaz to use netflix and shyt which is free to use on other platforms. What kind of fukkery is that?

Threads like this are hilarious. They're full of awful opinions (like claiming any particular company is going to lose when we don't have anything other than rumors for anything at this point), and inaccurate information (at this point, the gaming division is one of the few areas of Sony that makes money. The highest profile loss leader is the TV division).

At this point, the only platforms that should be concerned are Nintendo and PC. Aside from the launch games, there hasn't really been a ton of news on what new 3rd party games will get a release on Wii U.

On PC, alot of develops are just porting console versions of games, or not developing them at all, which is sad. Piracy, Steam, and the Humble Bundles got the game fukked up right now :to:

That's a good thing and bad thing. I can kind of agree that Sony needs to just cut down a few of their franchises and/or studios and focus on a few highly successful IP's now and worry about creating new IP's later.

I don't think gamers are tired of Sony franchises because they have a lot of them that's currently in the bushes right now.

Recently their PASBR game has seen some mascots that haven't been out in the limelight in YEARS so them resurrecting them would be a good choice rather than wasting money on okay franchises.

Infamous can go in the bushes for a while as well as Resistance. Infamous 3 can be made maybe a few years later down the line. Right now I don't think Sony needs to create new Ip's at all. They need to get a name for themselves. Xbox is that "halo" console, Nintendo is Mario but seriously there are people who have PS3 who never played Uncharted, Heavy Rain, LBP or Killzone yet. God of War is the closest brand wise they have going for them.

Sony should make a new Ape Escape platformer for PS4, bring medevil back out, Parappa the Rappa, and forget about resistance. Killzone I believe deserves one more chance but I think Guerilla is making a new IP. Oh and Sony needs to form some type of coalition with Google somehow. I don't know EXACTLY what they can do but they can figure that out.

:wtf:

More games is bad? The fukk is wrong with you nikkas?

Sony isin the trash cause of their bullshyt non gaming departments(tvs, phone, etc.)

Other than the vitas slow launch, sonys gaming department is a bright spot in the company.

Just cause your console only puts out first party titles every two years and all sequels, doesn't mean everyone should follow that model.:rudy:

Maybe they just care more about making good games and new ips, than the next quarter billion dollar halo game.

Maybe if Microsoft woulda skipped halo reach and let bungie create a new franchise, you guys would have more first party titles:pachaha:

:whoa: Breh wrong poster?? I'm not a Xbot breh :laff:

I didn't say more games is the problem. I just said they should really focus on improving the franchises they have now and the ones that's been dead for a while(Ape Escape, Jak and Daxter, Medevil) instead of churning out new IP's after another. Modnation Racers seems stupid now that LBP karting is out. Playstation All stars is a fun game but Sony looks like they didn't give Superbot a big budget to make the game so presentation wise it's stale. Kill Resistance off, Killzone is better. Killzone 4 needs to get it's more Killzone 2 ish grittiness back and that dark, greyish look it had. It really stood out. Killzone 3 still had it but the brighter themed levels kind of ruined it. I liked the way Killzone 2 felt like some raw ass futuristic shooter but with a more simple industrial feel.

I like pretty much most of the first party outings on PS3 but there are some that clearly needs more focus to really shine in all departments.
