@Loose laptops are not a thing of the past. im speculating but im willing to bet that we're about to see a lot of other things taking on that "___book" form factor. valve is already talking that pc shyt in regard to their console.
look at how our generation is so focused on mobility now. like i said in the other thread, apple is already doing well with gaming. thats why right there. all their portable products can be docked to something stationary or beamed across a network to something stationary or both. all of them.
look at windows 8. unified interface and capability across all devices. this essentially means windows 8 laptops = dockable consoles. an xbox with a screen already attached. look at dockable ipads and tablets
thats where consoles are going, if not thats where they need to be going. so in my estimation laptops are not over next gen will breathe new life into them...
