They are on SEGA status almost, right now. No company can take another financial beat like that in another console generation. If PS4 doesn't deliver, then it will go under.

On some real shyt...You should want the next PS4 to be as competitive as possible of the strength that it will keep MS on point. The main reason PS3 improved as much as it did from when it launched because they had MS taking it to them this gen.

I'll always support Sony and give them the edge over Xbox strictly off the freedom they give you. None of the proprietary bullshyt that locks you into the system like the Xbox. If Sony fails we'll get the Madden treatment from M$ year after year.
People happy to be buying xbox harddrives while sony lets you use laptop harddrives. People happy to pay for online services which sony gives you for free. I dont need to pay a dime to run netflix from my ps3. Xbots do. Sony lets you pay a small fee and they GIVE you free games to play. AAA titles in many cases. Sony gives and gives and gives but these decepticon xbots want to punish gamers with an inferior product just because they have party chat and ingame soundtracks tech xbox forbids sony from even using. Patenting in game soundtracks. Company should be ashamed. It makes me ill. Xbotism should be classified as a disease.

Sony is in some financial trouble though, in all realism, they cannot afford to take the type of loss on the PS4 that they did in the 1st few years of the PS3. In other words they need to have a damn near flawless launch. Their foray into handheld games, was a disaster (PSP and Vita), considering they sell the units at a loss and spent millions on marketing.

Sony doesn't own bluray brehthren,Sony making money off each xbox console sold. They bankrolling the next Playstation.
From what I noticed, most people have preference in almost anything.Video game consoles, phones, internet providers, phone providers, food brands, women, color, web browsers, toilet paper, music, actors, porn, people, stores, smells, textures, sounds etc. I haven't met someone who is literally disinterested and unaffected by some sort of bias. I like to partake in these "wars" because it's fun and like they said, competition improves everything. Complacency is not what anyone should want from anything.
Sony needs to just get back to what got them successful. They are falling into the same problems that got their other divisions in trouble...charging way too much for shyt.
Before you sony fans start blasting me...remember I have no favorites in any of this and call it like I see it. The PS4 cannot in any way be sold at a premium over the xbox 720 at launch. I don't give a fukk if the thing has wireless charging, can run off sunlight, or play games natively at 2560x1440...most of the casual crowd does not care about that. They need to get aggressive...really agressive as PSN+ is a better overall package for gamers than XBOX Live is right now. Bundle the PS4 with a free year of PSN+ and by year 2 I am sure your attach rate to subscribe will be high enough to satisfy the stockholders. Throw a 2TB or maybe even a 3TB in that bytch to encourage people to download games.
The Vita launch has been a fukking disaster because of a few hiccups thus far and hopefully sony addresses the issues of storage real soon because I am not sure how successful they expect to be selling a handheld with a 4GB memory card...and when you go to download uncharted your memory card is completely full.
Also, they need to think about what Microsoft is trying to do with that subsidized package they have been offering at best buy, gamestop, and in their stores. They might have to offer a similar package to get their PSN+ subscriptions up as well...it sucks, but a necessary evil if Microsoft has plans of launching at $300 with a 2 year xbox live plan.
At the end of the day it will be fun to see how all of this plays out and will be buying both at launch. I am hoping a Genesis/SNES type of war in where both companies go all out and offer the absolute best.
