Still mad that Gorilla came out at the end and called for OT
Sid had one of the best looks and mysic ever. He was just a badass enforcer and that went over well. Being tough was more better. The idea of guys being "good workers" didnt become popular until wrestling became more self awareSid was Hated that redneck w/a jheri curl
Never understood how he got to work against Michaels for the title much less beat him and win it.
Shawn did him favor after favor and in the end, all Jose cared about was the money. They had a falling out because of it after Shawn hooked up Jose with a job at his wrestling academy in 1999. Not gonna speak ill of the dead so I'll leave it at that, but there's more to this story.
And the whole non-handshake thing was a work cooked up by Bret and Shawn. Bret wrote about that in his book and was corroborated by Shawn in their face to face DVD
Shawn extensively covered this in his interview with Vince Russo.
At around the 41-46 minute mark, Shawn admits here that his 1996 face run with the title did not work, and takes full responsibility for it. He says he could have and probably should have put his foot down but he didn't.
Monsoon was on some bullshyt tbh. What did he have against Bret? Never saw him pulling those restarts with other champions. Old Mr. Magoo ass.
Michaels is my GOAT & favorite, but it truly is hilarous watching all these '95-96 videos of him and knowing he was "suppose" to be a face, and it was so clearly obv he was douche and scum irl
he doesn't talk about Lothario in the russo interview. meltzer wrote some stuff about their falling out in an old newsletter. Thanks for this. Do you have a timestamp for the Lothario stuff?
I think even in Shawn's book he mentioned his and Jose weren't close and he only trained with him a short timehe doesn't talk about Lothario in the russo interview. meltzer wrote some stuff about their falling out in an old newsletter.
