This board turned and hated on him BIG TIME when he started losing. Made it seem like he wasn't untouchable and wasn't even on the same level of Mayweather. In his prime, Roy Jones was unstoppable. You'll never see combos and counter punches like that in boxing again. Once in a lifetime talent and ability.
:childplease:

you stay making up shyt. I have never seen a post on here hating on RJJ.

What people say is that RJJ was an athlete, but not a great boxer. And a a boxer, he was nowhere near Mayweather's level. And Floyd's defense is out of this world, compared to RJJ who was just faster than everyone. But RJJ was a much better athlete and had more power.

His KOs :wow:

Alot of posts during those fights when he got older were rattled with hate and trying to say he was overrated. Especially that Calazaghe thread or however you spell that idiot's name.

And of course he wasn't a boxer like Mayweather...he was a freak athlete with speed on some Bruce Lee shyt. He could hit you with unheard of combos at different angles and let you crowd him in the corner and hit you with ridiculously fast counter punches. Just fukking crazy shyt. Unheard of then and damn sure won't ever be seen in this lifetime.

Roy is an all time great but he should have been hung the gloves up. If anything he should have stayed at heavyweight instead of letting Tarver goad him into a fight. I can understand him not wanting to fight the Lewis and Tyson's of the world but because of the size disadvantage, but he could have fought Holyfield and Chris Byrd amog others who were in his weight range. Tarver started it but it was Glen Johnson who sent him into the abyss.

People also love to bring up the fact that Roy fought a lot of bums during his prime, but don't realize how very few boxers in that era didn't wanna see no parts of Roy whatsoever... ESPECIALLY at MW and LHW

But he did fight James Toney & Benard Hopkins in their youth. :obama:

Roy was amazing to watch. Sad to see him continue to fight and lose credibility. I always thought he was too smart to end up as the cliche, but he ended up that way big time.

LMAO Steve Collins been trying to fight Roy Jones since the 90's.

Dude was a damn good champion at 168. Beat Chris Eubank and Nigel Been twice
