liberals cant have shyt because their coalition includes people who are diametrically opposed to each other - often, this breaks down into: the most marginalized people in society + the special interests that are largely responsible for their marginalization. there is no way to keep that together and serve both well. somebody must be sacrificed or given watered down policy. this will always leave people disgruntled and underserved.

conservatives have coalitions with people who largely are harmonious. no matter how insane, they move with one accord and punch above their weight. being ignorant, spiteful and bigoted is pretty compatible with corporate interests.

You just put into words what I had been thinking about in the midst of the Chapelle drama. I find it interesting that most of the LGBT and feminist mafia only have smoke for fellow liberals.

Makes sense since that’s the most practical ask for most. But there’s a growing segment of millennials and GZ that want to return to the land. That might be something to exploit. Especially if things like strong internet access and other important services can make its way from the cities to the small towns.
