Not saying he deserves it. But the fact he’s not even in the conversation seems like media hate.

As a Hawks fan and Trae Young fan hes not deserving of that type of honor. He hasn’t played at an MVP level. He’s making the progressions you want to see out of your PG, better decision making, playing with better pace, not taking as many bad shots. But statistically he’s roughly the same guy as last year but his scoring is down. I don’t see a compelling reason to view him as an MVP candidate other than trying to push a poorly worded narrative

So many members of "New Hoops Media" went out on the limb proclaiming the Hawks Luka trade was the worst transaction in the history of modern sports.

They have to ride that opinion to the wheels fall off by downplaying Trae's accomplishments.

Because Capela has been the bigger MVP and difference maker for them.

The same reason why Rudy is the MVP for the Jazz even with Mitchell putting up better stats.

Better team, better coaching with the emphasis on coaching. Trae was doing a lot of the same things when we were 14-20 in late February under Lloyd Pierce as he has as the #4 seed under Nate McMillan. So I don’t attribute our winning record to Trae raising his overall level of play. He’s been a big part of our success this season but this turn around has been since March 1 when Coach McMillan took over
